Hi, I'm (obviously) new to the forums
Hello, I'm new here (If you haven't already guessed). I'm posting this because I though it was rude to post anywhere else without introducing myself.
I'm Topaz and I'm a secondary school student in the UK. My interests include Art, anime, Jrock and alternative styles of music.
I look forward to meeting you all on the forums!

1. What do you do? My hobbies include drawing (in a manga style and natural), singing, watching anime, listening to music etcetera
2. Where are you from? I'm from Hertfordshire in the UK
3. Who is your favorite author? I'm not sure I really have one. I read what appeals to me, usually this means that I don't stick to one author
4. What are your favorite films? I liked the Japanese 'The Ring' but i don't really watch many films
5. What music do you want played at your wedding? Sisters of Mercy - Temple of Love
6. At your funeral? I have no idea. I hope I have some time to think about it before I do die.
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die? I'd like to go out with a bang. Perhaps a sudden gruesome murder, you know the kind where your head is cut off and left in the freezer for an unlucky relative to find
8. What kind of casket would you want? closed. If I died as I put above then I'm sure the sight wouldn't be particularly settling for people at my funeral, no matter how talented the people who put me back together were.
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit? At the moment I'd say a black EGL dress that I made with headdress, lace gloves, parasol and white laced kneehigh boots.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid? The innocence and that you believe you're invincible.
11. What's your favorite band? I have three Dir en Grey and XJapan, but my long standing favourites are Sisters of Mercy
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major? I have had a normal education. Primary and secondary school. My major will be graphic design focusing on illustration.
13. Why did you join? I joined because I would like to talk to people who are not poseurs and dressing and listening to music like this because it's 'in fashion'
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender? I am female
And also my username comes from a character's name of a novel that I started writing a few years back. My friends commented that they thought I put myself in it under this name and started calling me it.

Well, we get some poseurs every now and then. I mean, we are called gothic.net
You can guess which is the first place Spooky Kids find while searching in google for anything goth. (That reminded me, a friend of mine told me what kind of gothic TV shows do we have O_o. Next thing, she'll ask me what kind of schools do we have.)
But, anyway, we're not Hot Topic worshippers, if that's what you wanted to avoid, so, welcome

Thankyou, yes 'those' kind of people are the ones that I try to avoid. I mean I suppose if their aim is to look just like everyone else then that's ok for them.
We don't have any shops like that over here which is good because generally, this means that a poseur is pretty easy to spot. They're usually too lazy to bother making their own clothes and stick to pretty mainstream brands.
Thanks for the warm welcome

Sure is... of course then you find things that you don't have the money for at the moment and that can be frustrating

to hell with buying the clothes, buy a book...
...a medical school book with awesome color photos of cadavers, rib cages, hearts, some so disembowled it would be hard to tell the gender...
THEN you can talk to people in *vivid* detail about the cadavers; you will find out who is real and who is faking it...
i just talked to my carpool buddy about Godslayer Jillian's signature (May I cut off the head...) and the look on his face was PRICELESS!!! LOL He tries to come off as a macho basket ball player, but he was shivering in his skin! LOL
