i say use black pencil for eyeliner, it's easier for a beginner to use and being a guy it's also easier to not accidentally making yourself look like a drag queen with it. lips-chapstick, maybe some dark lipstick if you're into that, that is a similar but darker shade of your own lip color that is muted and dull looking.

Ok here goes: I'm not a big fan of lippy on guys, some of them can pull it off most of the time I think it looks bad. As far as eyes are concerned don't put any shadow above the crease in your lid (doing so tends to make guys look like drag queens). Don't use soft colors unless it is a light gray (once again drag queen). No blush other than maybe gray, if you can pull it off (drag queen). No lip liner (drag queen). No foundation/powder (unless you are going for the white face look but it tends to make you look like a drag queen, just a kind of gothy drag queen). When using eyeliner few men can pull off subtle eyeliner without looking like a drag queen but if you want to be subtle then just lightly line your lower lid, all the way across, with a black or navy blue pencil (do not use the really soft twisty ones cuz they will show up too much) then take your finger and swipe it across your lower lid starting from the inside corner and lightly pull it across to the outer corner (this gives it a nice smooth/even look as well as making it look light and kind of natural). You can also just do a really heavy, thick line on both your upper and lower lids with a black pencil (this time the twisty ones work the best), just place it at the inner corner of your eyelid and gently pull it outwards in one motion so that you get a nice smooth line. Once you get better with your makeup you can bend these rules quite a bit and even break a few of them but that can take a bit of skill ad familiarity with makeup to do.

I get most of mine at target but you can also get it at drug stores, department stores, grocery stores, random boutiques, lots of places online (not recomended unless you know the product because it can be a lot dfferent when you get it than what you see on the site), and the list goes on but I'll stop there.
*edit* oh and if you want ot go for the online aproach I recomend avon.com because they have tons of sale stuff that is actually really good quality as well as a great return policy

hmmm...clothes for a male goth...COLLARS!!!!!!!!!!! Sexy sexy sexy on men! And becuase men in skirts rule, please get a kilt! Guys can wear blue, grey, or black jeans generally, maybe some dark purple. Any sort of dark t-shirt should work, though it would be nice to have a few black or white dress shirts with a collar. *has a black silk man's t-shirt that's too big and keeps showing things that it shouldn't damn it! but it's so cute...* A black silk t-shirt would be nice! Chains are fun to play with in and out of the bedroom, get some and find fun ways to attatch them to your pants and shirts and stuff if you are able to wear them. Get cloths with your favorite bands and sew or saftey pin them to your clothing, even though it's a punk trend I think it works. Combat boots!

This pay not help... but fora beginner the easiest thing I have found in a stick is Covergirl's perfect point plus... I think that is the name... they have silver and black adn brown... maybe others... it is more expensive but it goes on really easy, is more difficult to smudge, it stays dark, and it just rolls up instead of having to sharpen it... So I pay the 6 dollars for it. try that...

I was going to jsut edit but you can only edit five minutes after you post ><
I have met some "goths" that ar afraid of Covergirl and Maybelline(spelling?), only because preps use them... but I say if it works best for yuo... go for it... I use Maybelline foundation (they have really pale stuff) and Covergirl eyeliner... and then Aziza(spelling?) for eyeshadow, they have all shades adn it is 1.00 at the Dollar Store. Lipstick... I use whatever if it is a nice colour, but normally don't wear it. No one should be afraid of the mainstream type makeup... Those companies know what they are doing and usually very well.
Anyone have opinions of this? Should a person who is concidered "goth" not use mainstream makeup, or does it really matter? (Just opinion searching I won't be changing how I am even if you flame me and send me threatening letters in my mailbox, which you mysteriously got addresses to O.O )
