What's your FAVORITE outfit? stripy arm warmers, black trench coat, black silk top hat with the jack of hearts stuck in the side, black dress shoes with red laces and a metal band at the top, black silk shirt with blood red tie, white fish net gloves, ebony cane with lions head carved top (my great grand father's), three belts that i have embedded with large pointy spikes (worn each above the other (the pants has three sets of belt loops)), cyk goggles, pale face, eye liner, red lips, black hair (wavy) with blue tips.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid? being able to fit in those play ground tunnels (they are like habitrails for kids).
11. What's your favorite band? Malachite, shadow play, Alaina Morasite, AcDc, Pink floid.
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major? I'm in high school, i am a music major, i will be going to Birkly school of music in boston Ma.
13. Why did you join? To meet other interesting goths, and share stories.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender? male

Welcome. Your looks gave me a feeling that you like steam-punk.
I wonder if you also like traditional goth music.

You like Neil Gaiman, Princess Mononoke, Million Dollar Baby, and play the electric violin. I adore your tastes! Do stay, share stories.
What year of highschool if I may ask?

Awesome visual! Maybe we can get Acushla's art friend Tara to paint a picture of you laying in your eco-friendly coffin, the veins of your arms and legs spreading out into the roots of plants, leaves lifting towards the Sun. Like the going away party idea too.
Welcome.

My favourite recent introduction!
Welcome, Hawthorne.
(And the description of your favourite outfit is causing me to look extremely forward to any contributions you might have to the picture thread... it's also making me think I'll have to steal your clothes.)

Wow, that's ONE outfit, rigth? You like lots of details in your looks, I see.
I would say it's cool and good for making a nice and heavy entrace.
Oh, yeah...welcome!

Don't know if it had anything to do with how you selected your Goth name, but i just heard a tasty, somewhat Gothic tune from Hawthorne Heights: "Saying Sorry". Just coincidence?

Man, I wish Tara was my "art friend." I just kinda stumbled upon her stuff while browsing another rock-art site ( this one.)

Welcome, Hawthorne. I have to admit, when I initially saw your username, I sort of thought you were going to be one of those poser-types, all obsessed with Hawthorne Heights and claiming that makes them goth. But, you proved me wrong. I'm looking forward to seeing you around the forums more. x)

Hah, the first thing I thought was Nathaniel Hawthorne. Then I got this terrible surge of bile in my throat.
Glad I could be of help, HumanePain, if somewhat indirectly.

response to all
Hey all,
thanks for responding to my thread! it seems there has been some discussion about my user name "Hawthorne" I chose this because my name is Hawthorne.
Godslayer Jillian you asked about my music tastes. I do like Steampunk, and traditional goth, but i am more into a new form of music that is just developing. "Fusion" is the new genera of music (has mostly developed in the last 5-10 years) that mixes traditional stuff (example: folk celtic) with modern stuff (like techno). I am actually in a band called Malachite that is a celtic punk fusion. We are at the moment developing an album, and it should be available online or from Itunes bye Febuary 2007.
"HumanePain" you mentioned some one named Tara who painted, I do not know who this is, but that would be awesome to have that painted!
"Alaizabel Cray", why thank you for thinking different about me. No i am a pure breed goth. My Mom was an original back in the 60's, 70's, 80's. and my dad spent his Highschool years as one in germany.
so i am very glad i stubbled across Gothic.net.
oh one more thing: some one mentioned a picture thread, if you could point me in the direction of that.
yours,
Hawthorne

Hah, seriously? So was my mom, although she was more punk than Goth. She's kind of interesting when it comes to the whole Goth thing, actually. She doesn't care that I dress or act the way I do at all, but if I were to ever call myself Goth in front of her, she'd spaz. She's accepting enough that she'd get over it, but I guess the initial thoughts that come with your kid announcing that they're Goth could be a bit overhwhelmng. Heh, this one kid in her class (she teaches 4th grade) is obsessed with proving to her that I'm Goth or something. Everytime she mentions something I did, he'll ask "...and was she wearing black?" It's pretty funny actually.

hahaha us goths get a bad image. for example i was at my grandparents a couple weeks ago. I always try to tone down the gothness and dress semi normal when i am done there, just because they live in an area that i would be hanged if i dressed goth, and i try to respect my grandparents. Anyway so may cosine who is 12 was there also, and i was waring a black suite and fingerless-gloves (this is what i call toned down. Plus waring suits makes me look "respectable, instead of goth" as my mother put it) my cosine comes up to me and says "why are you waring those gloves?" i say "because i like them" he says "but they are goth!" i say "so?" he says "goth is bad, goths are the type of people who killed kids in columbine" i then flipped because this was such a horrible thing to say.
i have been realizing that people always look to blame someone and generalize. the fact is that goths are some of the most caring and kind people (not to mention some of the most attractive :-P).
so i have rambled on long enough.
catch you guys later.
Hawthorne.

There's also a lot of typos in your posts. Watch for your I's and mispellings.

Thank you for pointing that out. I have been very distracted today, and have not been paying much attention to my typing. This mourning we found one of my pets (a chicken) had been killed by a fox , and so I am kind of sad.
