wow. Um, just...wow. It's like a really bad evanescence song. (not that you could diffrentiate)
My little newbie, did you not read the For The Newbies thread? It explains that you should make sure there are no other posts of the same subject when you post. And the poetry thread pretty much covers it. CAN YOU NOT READ??!!! At least you can spell, unlike some of the mansonites that pervert this humble forum. ::laughs:: humble forum. heh. But seriously, ten to one odds this post will either be LOCKED or DELETED. After you get flamed a bit, of course. Next time, just read the other posts, newbie.

My poetry

A thread of poetry
lunisa19, you would be advised to read the 'For the Newbies' thread - or just read other threads before posting a few things. It may ease you in a little more.
FenrisQueen, you regal lupine, you! Why are you playa-hatin' the newbies?
Don't hate the lunisa19.
Hate the game...

There's alot of very good poetry in this thread, i must say i'm a little reluctant to post any poem of mine...again (i may have already put a poem in this thread, im too lazy to search for it)
For You
These words i need to say
i've told them so
many times before
i-
have nothing more to
write or pray
to
here alone again i stand
crying about memories
i shall never understand.
Letters of a name i
can never forget
carefully scrawled
i-
cannot bear the thought
of washing away
her name
from among these empty walls.
Lessons i guess not yet
learned beckon from afar
away the nights pass
as
the empty winter's chill
invades the silent rooms where
i-
we once laughed within.
Candlelight shadow plays
eternally dance upon
my tear stained face
as i once again sing this song...
for you.
not one of my best...but i like it.

Any LimrickMiesters out there ?
heres 3..
while standing one night in the rain
Bob amputated his brain
he wandered alone
with a gurgle and moan
then was suddenly hit by a train
there once was a baker named Rake
a funny name, make no mistake
the children would tease him
and this didn’t please him
so he poisoned them all with a cake
once an old matron named Gert
had trouble undoing her skirt
she came to some harm
dislocated an arm
and was strangled removing her shirt

Beautiful Disgrace
A beautiful disgrace,
an intoxicated rose,
an orchid in the rain,
ivy on the wall.
Enigma in the frost,
contradiction in the night,
lies on silver tongues,
a complete paradox.
Sacrafice
The warning that the blue eyes bring
The pale horsed rider softly sings
The damned’s cries are deafening
He rides through time, he’s death on wings
At his command the truth is bent
Through the night a sign is sent
A true and utter sacrilege
That brought about his sacrilege
A demon from the bowels of hell
From gods graces he hath fell
Without his wings he is a hollow shell
He sees the future none foretell
Once he did not hate the light
But to darkness he turned out of spite
He denotes what will suffice
A burning cross for sacrifice
This one is about a friend of mine, Jin Yu, her father was abusive and one night he shot her and she died 2 days later in the hospital, he had commited suicide after shooting her.
R.I.P. my sister.
My Dark Place
My dark place, I live in my dark place.
Where stars fade in and out upon the ceiling.
Where even in the dark I can dance and never trip and fall.
I can sing or write and not be criticized.
I have no family or friends, I am disconnected.
No pain. Emotional, mental, even physical.
Never do I see the violence in the world around me.
Never do I have to see him.
My dark place is filled with truth.
Knowledge, all the answers.
I stay here for hours.
Until his voice wakes me from my day dream.
Sliding past the walls I have built, are his taunts.
His hands ripping open old scars.
My nails scratching at his eyes.
But then I stop.
Give up, I go limp.
I know what’s coming.
The flash of metal.
A loud bang, pain, and I am in my dark place
Rose

you look at me and smile
blood-speckled flesh of your face with red-tinged teeth
you cough, bubbles bursting to spatter me while i run beside your gurney
and you say my name, "hey, mark", while i hold your hand
so tired, you slur your words
and i ask what happened, even though i know
you've wanted this for so long, too long
your fading eyes betray you
the fear in your soul, mingling with relief, i think
maybe that's what it is
and you say, "i finally did it." and you squeeze my hand
people i work with are inserting this and taking out that
and the world takes on a peripheral blur
you squeeze tighter and say that you're scared
i'm scared too
the flesh of your arm hangs open, severed arteries draining
there is bone, but i don't want to look for long
your eyes search my face and i say it's gonna be ok
and you tell me not to lie
and i try to smile and say we'll do what we can
you won't let go of my hand and that's all right
i don't want to let go
i liked you
but your grip is slowly fading as is the light in your eyes
it's not so much the incision but the pills you took
too much time
they've been in you too long but we try
we have to try
and your mouth hangs open
your eyes have glazed
and still i hold your hand because you never told me to stop
a fucking waste
every conversation we'd had, all done now
it's time to let go
the sound of a flatline, huge and oppressive
it fills my head
your arm dangles, bleached white save for crimson droplets
it bounces with every compression, lifeless
cooling meat
i look at my hand and it's your blood i see
and i say, "good-bye", for there is nothing else to say
there are other patients for me
alive, who need help
selfishly, i wish i'd never seen you come in
others would have cared for you
i would have found out later
maybe.
oblivious.
too much death.
but i'm also glad i was there
so at least you had one firendly face at the end.
rest well.

I decided to post one of the few poems that I've actually written and really liked. Anyways, enjoy. Be nice.
Teens Against an Indrustial Backdrop
Twisted metal beams
Abandoned buildings
The birds sing here no longer
Nor is a plant or forest in sight
The only forests are the towering buildings
The world is painted in shades of drab gray
The only animals are the humans that inhabit the cities
Green grass is nowhere to be seen
The sky now matches the buildings
Full of pollutants and toxins
Power is everything is this city
Happiness and peace are hollow ideals
All are slaves to this machine of humanity
Consuming the whole globe
Ruining Mother Earth
We got nothing from everything
Nations are always on the brink of war
Spent fuel rods are slowly building up
No space left for them
No space left for anything
There is barely any space to breathe, let alone live
Full of people trying to make ends meet
Trying to eke a living out
Depression reigns over high
Sickness is prevalent
The children that are born can barely be considered human
Yet they still have children
More to feed off of the earth
More to create more waste
The earth creaks under the burden
Heavy iron and steel buildings
Heavy hearts
This is progress
In all of it's horrible 'beauty'
Why is it that the young ones are the only ones to ask why?
Why?

hey, thanx you two. didn't see your comments 'til tonight. poem/story is a good way to describe it, teapot since what i wrote most definitely could not be called "poetry".
winged -
i remember such feelings of disgust when i was younger. it's a shame how muted they've become with time.
excellent poem.

This is something that I wrote a little while ago. I don't write that often anymore. So when I get an idea in my head. I just jot it down before I forget. They usually be on napkins from cafes. It sometimes is hard to read through the smudges of cream. Be nice please.
Exhume Virgin Eyes
Graphite edges smoothly onto my soul
While windows glisten with gleeful madness.
I ogle halfheartedly at raindrops exposed silently
On a chaotic drawn canvas of deep reflection.
Rapture simplicity blurs passionately
Into the seals of these wanting lips
Parted like two distant river shores.
My tongue clashes on the eve of discovery.
Exhume virgin eyes lay
Wet from orgasmic tides.
Drench in silhouette impaled,
Razor douse tension.
I lay mockingly like a crucified doll
With alabaster skin gleaming black.
The forest beckons with nocturnal call.
I dream inside myself for hours.

I love you, you love me.
Going down the sugar tree.
We'll go down the sugar tree
and see lots of bees, playing, playing.
But the bees won't sting,
because you love me.

There's a title... but it's a non-existent combination of letters... there was a reason behind that, but fuck it, who really gives a shit:
Stinted reverie as my sullen arms lay bare,
Greeting shards of life as it was never there.
Inopportune misfortune, my stop beyond the gates;
My time of indecision; grim spector stares. He Waits.
Blissless ecsta-agony of surreal matters I see;
Existential ailment from what I should not be.
Until this ill-fated arrival
Unto this ill-fated child.
One last dilemma,
Release the shards. Free.
These barren arms lain waste,
Superfluously precious life
Set free.
For without the eyes of faith,
the lost sheeps will not bleet.
The foreign dilemma of our existence.
Our lives lain waste in biblical rhetoric.
Secrets of eternity spoken like our own.
Whispers in the shadows;
We, lost within the light.
Faint whispers linger on the shallows
Of a fateless promise of damnation.
Set my two arms free of this monochromacy;
Emptied of my questions, dilemmas; curiosity.
To deliver in a world of impoverished self.
To be delievered in a world of someone else.

And this needs a title like a gun needs a Craftsman Blower attatchment...because the poem, much like a gun, does a fine job of blowing the shit out of the competetion all by its self.
And this is a perfect example why I continue to come back to the poetry page, despite the exhumation of virgin eyes laying about, because of beautiful examples of prose, such as Disfunction provided us with.
Very good job man, thank you.

Your compliments are always like poetry... so eloquently written; I seethe in my jealousy at your talent... But I will write again... always better. lol; In all seriousness though, your compliments mean a lot to me, firstly because you know what you are talking about and secondly because of the way you present yourself. Thank you again.

Not that I found the poem abysmal, upon initial inspection it gave me a boner, and I wanted to like it but then my brain began to contort around some of the phrasing you used and that started my ill feelings.
I akin it to going to diner and ordering a nice juicy steak, and the steak is proffered and looks tasty like a steak good and well should, even cooked to the exact specification of the palate of the intended, but between the time the flavor can be deciphered by your taste buds and decoded by your brain…the maître d' lays a nice juicy fart in your face while turning toward the tray to retrieve your side dishes.
Bah, dinner is ruined.
The things I had a problem with, as alluded to earlier, is your line, “Exhume virgin eyes lay,” makes no sense whatsoever. I can almost make virgin cranium-necrophilia out of that…almost, and that’s as close I can get to drawing anything coherent out of it.
“With alabaster skin gleaming black,” is equally mindfucking. That’s like saying, “it glowed white, you know, like a drop of black ink.”
“I lay mockingly like a crucified doll,” says a lot about the state of Mattel incorporating the Mock look in their line of Martyr Me Barbies.
“Drench in silhouette impaled,” is so obscure I can’t even wrap my thoughts around the idea, which is only surpassed by the exercise in subliminal torture with this masterful working of words, “while windows glisten with gleeful madness.”
I would suggest laying off the drugs, but I think drugs may actually help you with cohesive expression, and so instead I offer you the constructive criticism of knowing your tools before you take them from your box and begin sawing a 2x4 with your handy dandy 9lb hammer.
p.s. if they usually 'be' on napkins, then perhaps they need be placed where used napkins are wont to be.

Hold on there TStone! She may have been writing about someone like me (See inter-racial thread for details) and you don't want to end up upsetting anyone!

Yeah, but then it wouldn’t be gleaming would it? It’d be exuding, or oozing, or secreting, and possible even secreting black, but not fucking gleaming! Ah, and you’re right, I’d never ever want to upset anyone, goes against the very grain of my being…

True... true...
Before anyone reads the poem/lyric/thing it's important that they note that I only have an obsession with German. Ich nicht sprechen sie Deutch.
-----------------
Vergessen
I played with all the secrets
that you tossed my way.
Never really realized
I didn't matter anyway.
But that's what I asked for,
That's what you provided.
Never really thought that
This is where it would end.
Das vergessen. Ich nicht liebe.
Das vergessen. Ich nicht lebe.
Das vergessen. Ich sterbe...
Innerhalb ihrem kopf.
The forgotten. I do not love.
The forgotten. I do not live.
The forgotten. I die...
Within your head.
I tried to remind you, in your little garden,
That I'm still here, but that I'm forgotten.
I tried to remind you that inside your head
I may be ignored But I'm not dead.
Nobody told me that it would feel like this;
I wasn't prepared to be unremembered.
Nobody told me I would have to put up with this;
I wasn't prepared to die.
Das vergessen. Ich nicht liebe.
Das vergessen. Ich nicht lebe.
Das vergessen. Ich sterbe...
Innerhalb ihrem kopf.
The forgotten. I do not love.
The forgotten. I do not live.
The forgotten. I die...
Within your head.
Nobody told me that I was a victim,
That your kind words were merely bait.
Nobody told me that love was just a game
A game of so many things that I forget.

: : soupirs : :
::scuffs foot on floor::

Tstone, may I worship you?
