Sober. IMO, being drunk is rather unpleasant (but I'm one of those people who think too much in any state of inebriation:

Demonic possession... then you deal with the demons, come out on top, and you're stronger and have lived a more interesting life for it. Plus, spiritual enlightenment seems a bit boring.
