I have fingerless gloves, too, but mine are black lace... Not quite as functional as yours, I guess.

*hasn't got a job* but I'm waiting for a callback from one of the stores in town... who's only restriction appearancewise... is that you wear their shirt... and not a skirt.
and for 16/17 I think that's a good deal!

As for me: corporate Goth. I'll post a picture later this week of me in my cube, in my office wear.
I wear both short and long sleeve black shirts, sometimes with a white tee underneath if I feel like looking a little "holy" , sometimes with diamond or striped weave patterns, black Haggar slacks or Dockers, various black dress belts with black gloss metal, chrome or brass buckles, black Rockport slipons or tie ups and of course black socks.
Everyone at work knows it isn't a coincidence that I dress that way almost every day. (They see my stuffed raven "Boris" and my bovine skull in my cube. I am tacking up a Dead Can Dance poster this week!) So far the V.P. hasn't said anything.
There is one other guy in the office that dresses a little similar although he goes for more of the black "bowler" style shirts (flames etc.). He goes further with some cool tatoos. His cube has an even louder "theme".

I know (smirk) "corporate goth" is an oxymoron. Oh well, I have to make a living. Might as well have fun doing it, and try opening the world's mind a little bit at a time...
Your generation will probably be lucky enough to wear the lace sleeves and everything to work (sigh).

Well... I wear a lot of black (OMG, really?!?), and fortunately since my office gig is in a warehouse, I can dress pretty casually. I can't wear skirts, but I really don't do that much anyway.
I'm almost famous for my eclectic eye makeup and colorful (yet still office environment-friendly) hair, and the only time I really go full-out "weird" is during October, and that's to mentally prepare people I work with for the Halloween dress-up (my big at-work event of the year...)

I can beat you all...air force uniform. all summer. And in my off time, I lived on base so I had to dress conservatively all the time (by conservative, I mean not goth.). Yep it sucked. In fact, by the last couple weeks I was so sick of trying to be "perky and normal" in bright colors etc, I said to myself, screw it, and I wore black and such that makes me more comfortable. As much as I love working in the cadet camp, the unwritten/unspoken rules about what's acceptable (and the written ones) can be stifiling! So usually I have to tone it down and do just all black, or black and white, but nothing I would call "fun". Apparently normal people dress pretty boring (pants, t-shirt). I wore a long skirt once when we went to town (it was white...with a white jacket because i loved it and they didn't have it in black), and everyone was amazed I'd dressed up so much. Which just strengthened my conviction that normal people are damn boring!

Know exactly what you mean Robin about trying to be perky when you are not dressed comfortably, trying to be what you don't feel.
My son can tell when I am depressed, blue and otherwise not myself, because that is when I dress like a normie, I want to just blend in and disappear out of view.
When I am my normal chipper and confident self, it is black all the way.

It's weird isn't it? And yet most people would feel totally out of place dressed gothic. But university's a grand place, you can wear almost anything you want...within reason...and in a place like Vancouver, it's actually an asset to be a bit dressy. My roommate absolutely admires my outfits (and she keeps asking me where I'm going!)

I work @ the world wide leader in sports and I dress in long sleeve dress shirts w/ under shirt and dress pants and shoes. Overed by a wool overcoat. All black of course. I think I am the only goth showing my colors at work. Not many ppl of our culture work at ESPN. If they do they are in hiding.
