Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

I know a Band in Los Angeles that is looking for a Female singer..
I know a Band in Los Angeles that is looking for a Female singer, they kind of sounds like Evanescence, Nightwish, Epica...
Music sounds pretty good, I think the previous singer lived too far away to stay in band. Band name is Dremora, they are on myspace under 'dremoraband'

I have way more to add to this thread...
Firstly, Eveghost of Scarlet's Remains. Amazing.
And I don't know names, but I'll mention the singers of: Sixteens, Kitchen and the Plastic Spoons, Hatesex, Zadera, Naughty Zombies, Mephisto Walz, Voodoo Church, New Days Delay and the Horrorpops.

A few of my favorite lead singers are....
Emilie Autumn
Hannah Fury
Lacuna Coil
Krypteria
Cindergarden
Rasputina
I recommend you check out their stuff. Rasputina and Emilie Autumn have a victorian-like image if you're into that. Cindergarden somewhat does but with a darkwave feel to them. And try Hannah Fury's Through The Gash stuff. It's hard to find online but you can get some off her stuff off her main site for free.

My personal favorite female-lead band is definetely Epica. Simone Simon has quite a vocal range; she can go from low to high soprano. The song that best represents this is "Chasing the Dragon" on the Divine Conspiracy albuim. Of course, like someone mentioned previously, there's quite a bit of the male grunts from Mark Janson. If you'd like to hear Epica with minimal death grunts, I'd recommend their album Consign to Oblivian. Some of the songs have death grunts, but only a few, the rest are all Simone.

Battle of Mice by far. Post-sludge in the vein of Neurosis with a lot of shoegaze-y tendencies, and her voice is absolutely gorgeous. Listen here.

A lot of the female vocalists I like have already been mentioned, but I don't think that Marta G. Wiley has come up yet. She's got a pretty interesting voice. A little like Kate Bush but not as squeaky. But what's great about her is that she's a lot more than a singer - she's a songwriter, musician, producer, everything. I also heard that she has a hundred albumns out. I don't know if it's true or not, but I've found alot of her stuff on the web. And each albumn is a different genre of music, like one is goth, another is dance music, another's folk, etc. Amazing.
Oh, and Emilie Autumn is an incredible violin player, too.

Is it just me who hates Arch Enemy?
Grace Perry from Landmine Marathon has to have the coolest female scream ever.

You should check out Eden House, they are a new gothic rock band in the old skool vein with lots of excellent guitars and riffs. Here's a few more excellent albums that you should check out:
Sinergy - Beware The Heavens
Within Temptation - Enter
Within Temptation - Mother Earth
Tristania - Widows Weeds, Beyond The Veil, Ashes & Illumination

Here's some stuff that isn't Evanescence, Nightwish etc.
Danielle Dax
The Violets
Ipso Facto
Lydia Lunch
PJ Harvey
Bat For Lashes
Not all of them are goth, but I don't really think that matters. They're all pretty good in my opinion.

I adore Siouxsie for what she's done. I respect her as an artist, but with the exception of Peek-a-Boo, most of her music bores the crap out of me.
