Too easy for what? To make an imbecilic inquiry and a corny quip? You make this too easy for me. I'm fifty fold smarter than you, you're a joke. Walk away now, moron.

joke (jōk) pronunciation
n.
1. Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line.
2. A mischievous trick; a prank.
3. An amusing or ludicrous incident or situation.
4. Informal.
1. Something not to be taken seriously; a triviality: The accident was no joke.
2. An object of amusement or laughter; a laughingstock: His loud tie was the joke of the office.
|
There's nothing there referring to intelligence... how can you be smarter than 'an object of amusement', unless you first establish an accurate reading of said amusing object's intelligence?
So before you call us morons again, post some evidence you've seen of the 'gothic lifestyle' that makes you conclude that we're morons. And that means things personal and relevant to us, not the kids on your highstreet.

Post some links to threads you've seen where people are obviously "confining their personality" to the gothic stereotype.
If you can't, you're on a far lower level than any of us.

Do I really need evidence? You already damned yourself by saying you're a goth. It's not like saying you're an american. Saying you're a 'sub-culture' doesn't really give you much room to work in. You obviously listen to depressing music, you also obviously are depressed a lot. It's like someone saying they are a schizophrenic, we can assume they have some sort of hallucinations or delusions.
You're the same way, except without the hallucinations. You have this delusion that you're original, but you call yourself a 'goth.' I thought after kids got out of high-school they picked up an education and realized that cliques and shit like that are trash. Maybe you're still in high-school, so I can forgive your invariable stupidity.

Where have I said I'm a goth?
Because I'm a member here? Well you're a member here too, I guess that makes you goth too.
I obviously listen to depressing music. Post me a link to where you saw the list of music I listen to. Any CD's I buy that turn out to be sad, overly emotional or depressing get snapped in half and chucked in the bin.
Depressed a lot? Where did you get that one? I'm happy as heck. I've got a great family, great house, great computer, three awsome little rats, good friends, I'm young and healthy, I don't have relationship troubles... I'm not depressed because I have nothing to be depressed about.
Delusion that I'm original. I don't recall ever showing you anything I've made. You'll need to see that before you can decide whether I'm original or not.
And I'm in college preparing to apply to Edinburgh to study art. That requires a little more originality and intelligence than you give "my kind" credit for. And like I said, I haven't said anywhere here that I'm a goth, and I've never been part of a clique in my life.
Now. Post that evidence I've asked you for. Do NOT post another message dripping with intellectual diarrhoea until you post some evidence to back up all your insults.
You are being an asshole. My evidence for this is your constant barrage of unsubstantiated insults, your malicious deliberate ignorance of the subject, and your "I'm better than you times infinity plus one" quips.

Okay, tell me what kind of music you listen to, and your psychological history. If it's not overly emotional music, it's overly violent, either way, you're an easy nut to crack (no pun intended).
Being a ******, or goth requires you to be a gigantic vagina that walks and breathes. So with that said, you're going to lie about everything I asked you to provide. If you were actually an adult, or near one, you wouldn't identify yourself with a 'sub-culture' as you idiots call it. Why don't you grow up and stop being an idiot? When you do grow up, you'll realize you're a dolt (pun intended).

Since you're sure I'm going to lie about the music I listen to, I won't tell you that my favourite genres are drum & bass, ambient, and psy trance. I also won't go on to tell you that my favourite music artists/bands are LTJ Bukem, Juno Reactor, High Contrast, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Future Sound of London, The Orb, Infected Mushroom, Boards of Canada, Pendulum, Leftfield, Aphex Twin, Goldie, Orbital, Dire Straits, Nightwish.
Goodness me, what a lot of depressing and angry music there.
Psychological history? Well it's never required a psychologist, so I really don't know for certain. But I've never had depression, never been mentally disturbed by anything, had a very uneventful childhood, and I'm emotionally stable as a rock. (Possibly partly thanks to that very mild autism I mentioned)
What's the starred-out word? I noticed there's a lot of unexpected words in the forum's censor list. o_O And I don't call myself a goth. That's one of the major points I'm getting at.

Doesn't seem ad rem.
at C130: You don't have mild anything. I've spoken to people with mild autism, you have aspergers at best. Even that is incredibly mild, so mild it's hard to say you even have it (from what I can tell from the fora). Even though I really can't analyze you properly via the fora.
I still doubt you have that, but that is technically a mental defect. Not a really bad one actually; because most people with aspergers are highly intelligent, but they lack social skills. I have ADHD, so I guess I can relate to that a bit.

Aspergers? You're probably right. It's a form of high level autism tho.
You should try speaking to me in person. It's easy to communicate with others when I have plenty time to consider my response, ie. in online forums, but in real-time, I find it a lot easier to speak in monologue than to have to interact sentence by sentence with those I'm talking to. I'll have something I want to say, and start saying it, then get interrupted and become utterly confused. That's when I just nod and smile, then go back to my drawings.
Though I'd love to find out if this isn't a mental problem and can be improved, because it's so hard to make friends since I can't communicate well. Perhaps I just didn't get enough social interaction as a kid, so I never learned the basics properly?

Honestly, I'd have no problem with your one-way speech. I already know a kid who does that, he has it much worse than you. He also has pedophilic urges, and often talks of them (he can't hide anything).
My ADHD used to be much worse, I would run across desks hugging people and jump from topics that were loosely interconnected, and I mean really loosely. If I see a shoe, I think of the second letter and then think of herion, then I think of popular music, then a famous musician, then Mozart, then Beethoven, then Kim Peeks interpitation of his 5th symphony as V in morse code, then V was the first thing said in Sir Winston Churchills speech. Then I'd think of the fact that he was born in a women's lavatory, then from there I'd connect that idea to something like who invented the toilet, and the first toilets that were discovered in North America, and how they used it for compost. Then I'll open my mouth and say, "isn't it amazing how things break down?"
That's my conversation ability BEFORE I learned to tame the wild ideas.

As I often say, I'm very lucky to have what I've got; the creases in the fabric of my life are small.
Hey. Life would be pretty boring without folk like you. As much as I despise saying this, I like you.

I actually know what you mean, regarding the ADHD. I hate "relating" to you, as a.) I don't particularly like you and b.) I feel like it cheapens both of our experiences, but I had a very similar problem for years. The most distinct memory was when I was in 4th grade, and in my art school. I wanted to talk about Redwall by Brian Jacques, and then I thought about Jacque as a french name and then French Camp that we went to and the girl that looked like a square and pronounced "franc" like "frank" and hot dogs and the boy scout fundraiser I went to once that sold hot dogs and then the time I went to the boy scout store in Har Mar to help my dad find patches, and... You get the idea. You apparently were a little more introspective than I was, though, because I chose to voice all of those things aloud, while laughing because I was embarassed. I couldn't stop. One of my friends actually wrapped her jacket around me to control my wild gestures and walked me forcefully to the bathroom to calm me down.
Sorry, that wasn't particularly related to the subject at hand... I guess I just meant to point out that keeping in mind other people's "uniquenesses" is often quite helpful.

I'm not that bad a person like I said. I put on my pants one leg at a time, except I have a third leg. It's HUGE.
Nah, I am just kiddin', I'm quite human and I have flaws. One thing that I am incredibly strong in, is logic, rhetoric, and debating. I became this way because people used to outwit me in a moment, so I began to watch their behaviorisms and their speaking.
Like I can't understand metaphors, or things of that such, probably just as bad as C130.
Like my father one day (when I was about 6) told me to throw out the garbage. I threw it all over the lawn. My mom told me to get lost, I walked around aimlessly for hours. My babysitter told me to get out a stain in the carpet, I cut the carpet out, etc.
I'm a very literal person.

Well, seeing as you have always been so literal-minded, I must offer you congratulations (and I assure you, I am being serious) on your grasp of sarcasm. You seem to have improved your skill in that manner.

Sarcasm takes a bit of time to process actually, like in my creative writing class people write metaphors and I get lost and have to process it about five-ten times.
Except, I write better metaphors than most people do, but mine aren't as subtle as a breeze in a hurricance. Mine are usually very easy to see and are important. Like an olive branch often represents peace, or can be connected to Noah's Arc. I wouldn't use the olive branch to represent Greece and then perhaps a famous person in history who liked olive branches or something.
I hate esoteric stuff. I suck with dates as well usually, except important ones to me, like 1492 (most infamous day in history), 1924 (ironic day in history), etc.

1924? I never did dates, either, although I can probably tell you everything there is to know about Henry VIII and his wives.

Currently reading "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory. Very good-- I highly recommend it. And by "currently", I mean that although I'm at work right now, in order to keep my mind focused I am reading the book and on this forum as well as working. I agree, Henry VIII was probably one of my favorites. I'm not sure if I mean "favorite historical lunatics" or "favorite historical royalty", though.

My favorite crazy was Newton. At least I think he was nuts, the guy locked himself up and his excercise was basically pacing. I hoped you liked that irony.
See how this topic has died down that we've all become civil? That's why I argue, it makes the forums more fun.
