The 2 game themes I liked the most:

Super Castlevania 4 (SNES) had more errie music. It definetly sets the mood.

Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega Genesis) sounded so cool while playing the game.

Yeah all the classics are taken especialy sonic. So I will go to the computer game of the later 90s. Homeworld the soundtrack was amazing bythe standards then and the standards now. Especialy the choir version of adiago for strings. I'm going to buy the game of the year edition sometime just for the soundtrack.

The sonic song that goes: doo doo doo-doo doo- doo doo doo doo doo doo...
okay that didn't work out too well. Well the one where you get the sparkleys and the song plays while you have the invincible sparkleys. But if you go back to Sega Mega Drive the song played almost all the time.

Oh forget it. lol.

Also one winged angel and the Final Fantasy X theme song.

I know Final Fantasy has been beaten to death but I still love it. Final Fantasy was the first video game where I fell in love with the music and Final Fantasy II (SNES) was the first video game sound track that made me cry it moved me so much. As a matter of fact I can’t get past the intro of FFII without tearing up.

Beside the pervious mentioned games I love the sound track for Arcana for the SNES. A great RPG and I’ll go back and play it just for the music. Also Guardian Legend for the NES had a good soundtrack IMHO.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned any of the Dragon Warrior/Quest games. Most of the soundtracks rank up there with Final Fantasy IMO. Dragon Quest VIII (for the PS2) soundtrack was performed by the Tokyo philharmonic orchestra and was very moving.

If any of you speak Japanese "Bahamut Lagoon" is a excellent game made by Square Soft that you must play(I think Nobuo Uematsu wrote the soundtrack but I'm not a 100% sure). The sound track was most excellent .

The Sonic 2 Game Gear sound always got stuck with me ^^
Also, various Final Fantasy pieces like Liberi Fatali, Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec, Find Your Way, One Winged Angel and To Zanarkand...

But the game of which I personally like the music best is Terranigma for the SNES. However, as far as I know it was forbidden in America for religious reasons (you're playing a boy that has to create the world anew).
Still, it's a wonderful game with wonderful music.

Take care,
Azurite

I cant even remember the tune right now, but I can clearly remember having a dream featuring the Hitman silent assassin title screen theme.

I love One Winged Angel and To Zanarkand, among other FF music. I thought the Devil May Cry games had decent music. Could anyone hook me up with Zelda soundtracks? *gives puppy dog eyes* Oh, and does anyone know the name of the intro song of Final Fantasy X? The one that's playing during the beginning cinematic?
