One, you are a mind reader. I'm just more of a lurker now than a poster. Second, can you blame me, considering all the threads that have popped up lately?

Cyber the user above you

Boob names

Let's overreact!

Say something terrible about the poster above you

Lets be assholes.

I made the last one up. In any case, I stand agape. And you are right, posting to such threads just slows down the process of them dying away. Yet their are too many people here who enjoy that sort of thing.

Awesome. Thanks Becky. I'll try that and I'm going to make a new account called, sup3rm3gaA$$h0le and i'm going to fuck all and sundry. Not that, that would be constructive, but I have'nt seen alot here lately that could be construed as such so it would fit right in.

I have seen some activity, but it's apparently not enough.

You do all have the power to moderate. All reported posts are evaluated and frequently removed in a fairly timely period. Posts that are not reported do sometimes slip by for a bit, but more aggressive moderation also seemed to get complaints.

If they do not do anything because they are too busy to check this forum and my e-mails, then they are negligent. If they allow these kinds of threads in an all ages forum, then it (depending on region) is criminal.

I do not believe they would allow this is they were aware. I may not really liek the admins, but they aren't the kinds of people who would allow this.

Becky, it seems like you talk about objectionable content a great deal more than there actually seems to be objectionable content on this site. What exactly is your goal? The actual moderators are now unseen, since the ones that are/were listed seemed to get attacked by trolls a lot. That however does not mean that there are none. It is true that they are sometimes not quite as active, but then again the moderation is pretty fair and stays in the realm of policy, rather than personal politics and power tripping.

If you see posts that you feel are inappropriate, report them.

With all due respect, don't you think that we'd report objectionable topics/posts more often if we were aware of mod/admin actions (against the objectionable topics/posts in question)? Seriously, would you, if you were a member of some other forum, use the "report" option if you believed that the mods/admins didn't give two turds about the forums?

I have e-mailed the admins on this issue already.

If nothing is done within 24 hours, I will contact IINI myself. The admins are not, of course, promoting these kinds of threads, but they DO need to be more diligent in monitoring... MODERATING... for this shit. On an all-ages board, there needs to be active administration and mods for this kind of behavior.
All images were adjusted a long time ago to not even be shown inline in posts. They are all off site and any post containing a link to an objectionable image should be reported. We could disable all image linking as well, but frankly, this is the internet. Sometimes some bozo is going to post goatse. There are currently 13,513 posts in the picture post thread alone. If nobody reports it and it isn't even displayed on this site, I'm not really sure your calls to the FBI, FCC, IINI, or whatever seem like a totally reasonable rational response. Also, you've already been banned from this site, so it's hard to be totally sympathetic to your 'alarming' issues.

If I reported a post and it was effectively removed, and I reported another post later and it was effectively removed, yes I would trust that moderation was being done. I don't need a moderator patting themselves on the back to know the job is being done.

Irrelevant. That's if the posts were removed. We have not seen this. (In this case, replace "post" with "topic.") I mean, in this very topic there have been complaints about certain topics. Those complaints have been agreed with by other members other than the original complainer. Those topics still exist. (Unless they were removed while I was typing this particular post, in which case I apologize.) Do you not see the error in your logic?

I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm merely pointing out that if we the regular members of this site were more aware of mod/admin actions, we'd be more likely to report offensive topics/posts. (Well, in all honesty, I must say "I" rather than "we.")

I know you are not trying to be a jerk, but complaining in the forum and reporting the post are two different actions. Reported posts are evaluated, but just because someone complains in a thread doesn't mean it's noteworthy. I've seen seven people complain in an obvious spambot thread and not one actually reported the post.

Excellent, yes. So, I DID report this issue directly to you here and via e-mail....and then I got banned. Great positive reinforcement, there.

What I was trying to prod in is that there is a need for ACTIVE administrator and moderators. Apparently, they need bigger spines to handle the scary Interweb peoples. If no one perceives that anything is being done, then no one will do anything. And people will leave.

I reported it and 24 hours later there is action. Not even adequate. What is a link to kiddie porn was posted? Even if the image function is disabled on your site, you are still accountable for that link as the list owners/admins. And then, you'd have some serious problems.

And then there would be questions that you would HAVE to answer instead of banning the person for asking the question with zero explanation.

Be grateful it was me that reported it to you and not the 15 year old's mother.

I have a problem with the harassment some of us are receiving from a member on here. I have tried over and over and OVER to contact someone to have something done. Yet nothing has changed. I'm asking for someone to pay more attention to what is going on.

@BeckSlater78: Would you please just drop it and stop complaining, the FBI does not honestly give a crap about a topic about cybering the person below you. And just cause the owner or mods of this site do not take action the prevent the topics and posting, the FBI will not hold the owner responisble but rather the person posting it. Trust me i know and if you possible think you know about internet laws please try me cause i have been arrested for breaking internet laws before so i have them pretty much memorized, so please just drop it...

No need to be a bitch about it, I was just trying to help. This is supposed to be a forum where we spell correctly, but whatever I was just trying to help.

Ok, see, I have a problem here.
Gnet, you have just posted several times, so I cannot complaing about activity.
But now I don't seem to find any of BeckySlater's posts, yet I can see the "Cyber" thread.
That makes me doubt of how seriously you take the popular oppinion against your own standards.
It's like we're back to the banning wave almost a year ago, and that would almost imply you would have reasons to ban me too.

Hello Gothic.net.

I do not plan on criticizing your moderation efforts or the like. I have a request for you though. Could you delete all of my posts from the "Reincarnation of the poetry thread" in the Literature section please? I would really appreciate that. If you need to ban me to make my posts go away, do not hesitate to do so.

Sincerely,
Mir.

LostAndCrazy: I think there is a policy stated in the FAQ somewhere that they won't delete your posts because you leave or whatever, they are there for posterity, which is a good thing, because you have written so many awesome things that should be shared with us! Please don't have them deleted.
(But it doesn't hurt ask them to, they might, but I hope they don't, because your writings are in the true letter and spirit of Gnet!)

Are you concerned with copyright protection? Why do you want them deleted?

HumanePain: Thanks as always for your kind comments. Its complicated. I don't think I'd be able to explain fully, just why I want my posts deleted. I did send the Forum Administrator an email asking him to delete/ban my account. If he fails to do so, I could always go the kiddie porn route. =P

Charming and expected, as par usual, gothic.net. I believe you sure as fuck put in the user agreements that we cannot post anything implying sexual acts whatsoever on the messageboard. Would you like me to quote you it, or do you not already know the user agreements that YOU made? Also, if a certain thread broke the user agreement rules, shouldn't YOU take responsibility for your website and remove such a thread?

Don't underestimate the FBI, bucko. They like e-arsefucking people to cause some kind of annoyance. Have you not read BeckySlater's messages in the Cyber thread? If so, I think it would do you a good deal to read it. But oh, wait......... we CAN'T because it was removed by our ever dilligent website administrator. It stated a previous example of what happens when the FBI decides to step in on a messageboard, but instead they decided to take away the whole messageboard.

Well, if you want all your messages to be wiped out, go type in the general forum about lots of incredibly intelligent things while sticking your finger high at gnet, and they may remove your posts. Either that or you could just go round and as a joke, go on about how much you hate certain.........fuzzy bi-sexual treehugging pandabear loving uber friendly cultures of people and that may work if shouting at administrators doesn't work. Just don't act like you're from the Mickey Mouse Klub because......
