New Year's Resolution

Well, it's that time of year again. (And I could find a similar topic through the search engine...)

What's you're New Year's Resolution?

Mine is to quit smoking. Cigarettes, that is. I hate the things. I've been smoking them since I was 15. I'm about to turn 26. Enough is enough. I want to quit them.

I just wish I had a way to stay away from them.

What your resolution?

They're not really a tradition here, so I don't make them.

Not a tradition here either, but I still have one: start practising my singing for at least one hour every day.

That's a good one. In fact, that's one of the reasons I want to stop smoking. I love singing. Even though I suck...

Hehehe. Everyone can sing. Even if, at presently, you might not be able to hold a tune in a bucket (generally speaking, since I've never heard you sing). It's a matter of training your ear and your vocal chords; the first can be done by attending a course on music and the second by getting a good teacher. It might take a while, but it's worth it, believe me. I've been attending singing lessons with three different teachers the last six years; I'm constantly being told now that I'd be mad not to pursue a career in the Opera.

I used to be great at singing. I trained myself by singing along with my favorite songs. I was able to follow the lyrics perfectly, even sounding exactly like the whoever the singer was, no matter who it was. (Im good at copying voices.) Sadly, my voice was then destroyed through smoking...

I want to be able to dance a level seven song in DDR, but that's before the year ends.
As for next year, I want to start writing my little novel again.

Hmmm... move up to Intermediate Pilates, practice my cello more often, and get over the procrastination bumps.

I want to stop being such a push over.
But, that's never going to change ._.

Get mentally healthy.
Be a better girlfriend.
Lose weight.
Get my grades up.

And then vow to never make a resolution again.

A lot of you are wanting to loose weight. Well, I have a good suggestion for you. In the four/five months I've been eating more healthy food, less junk food, and working out twice a week at the gym, I've lost over thirty pounds and have gone from a 2XL shirt size to an L. It isn't easy, nor is it quick, but it works.

Yeah I was doing that, but then the holidays came up and I did a lot of eating. And then I was unable to exercise at karate due to an injury and illnesses. So yes, I have gained some weight. I look forward to the passingof the holidays, in a way.

Speak more in Spanish with my Spanish-speaking co-workers (actually talk more period, and not only to myself)...

Throw away some of the sh... stuff I've been holding on to for sentimental reasons and then stop being so damned sentimental...

Cook a bit more than I did this year...

Draw more...

...and I'll probably limit it to just these so I won't overwhelm myself so much that I won't do any of it....

Learn how to type better(I suck!),
teach myself Spanish,
buy a new computer before I go out of town at the end of January,
practice fly tying more often,
and take my dog on more walks.
