Actually I don't remember someone ever mentioning it for a wedding, but that's a damned good idea!
On the issue of being allowed to wear black, you can try telling your parents you're entering a Bohemian phase and that black symbolizes intellect.
Of course, that's only to wear black simple things; no fishnets.

Also, everytime you happen to be somewhere with your parents where the employees wear all black (Chili's restaurant, Macaroni Grill, Best Buy, Tilly's etc.) point it out that the fashion must be considered "retail professional".
Welcome.

That really is a good choice to play at a wedding. Why didn't I think of that?
Enjoy your stay.

Only problem I see here: "Cradle of Filth, KoRn, Rob Zombie, ect..."
Those bands are just... Ew.
If you want metal, check out more modern Ministry, Fear Factory [whom I rather dislike], Chemlab, Die Krupps, KMFDM, Hardwire, Pig, OOMPH!, etc.
Yes, I just told you a bunch of industrial metal bands. From there, I'll get you into aggrotek bands, and then older industrial and EBM. Just because metalheads are closer to rivetheads than goths. :O

Actually, Chemlab, Hardwire, and KMFDM are some of my favorites. I just didn't have enough time to type all of it.
I listen to a lot of KoRn, Cradle, and Zombie only because my dad does.
Feel free to enlighten me.
