Actually, most of the cutters I know DON'T brag about it. When you cut to feel, when you cut because you think you deserve pain, when you cut because it's the only way you know to understand your pain, you don't go around saying "Look what I did!". You cut on your thighs, on your ribs, anywhere you can easily hide it. You blame it on your cat, you excuse it away. You don't post it on a forum like it's some badge of honor.
edit: If it wasn't clear, I was agreeing with Toxic_Envy.
I realized that by saying "actually", I may have made that not as clear.

Dude, as people have read in the whining forum, I have been through some events in my life, I have had cutting problems, and I have starved myself, and I have attempted suicide, I say that to make a point, not to boast about it, if you do these things, don't wear it like a badge of honor, and get help. I quit on my own and I am proud of that, I actually stopped as an anniversary gift to my girlfriend, since she was so concerned about me. You make me sick, talking about cutting as a hobby, what, do you scar yourself to make your friends laugh? Or just because "no one understands you and your complex emotions" *sigh* and people wonder why the gothic culture is looked so unkindly upon.

Honestly =p
Although real suicide usually does take a few attempts - more tries by women then men, as women more often try to do themselves in nicely, like by overdosing as opposed to electrocution. Isn't that a fun fact.
