Very neat and convenient.

Was that always there and I'm just unobservant? The more I think about it, the more I think that's the case.

I'm trying to piss you off enough for you to just do it. I guess it did'nt work, did it? So what does it take? Can my being a Nokia Salesman or a porn freak tip the scales? And no, this has nothing to do with flamewars or other such nonsense. I want my fucking poetry deleted. That is all I want. They are not comments or statements. They are my property and I want them off of here. I really cannot understand why that is such an issue.

They are not your property, you should really read up on DMC Act. They are yours, but you freely posted them when you did you gave up your right on wether to remove them or not, its up to the gnet admins. I have to agree with the admins on this one.

Where can I find this "DMC act"? In any case, I implore the Admins to help me out here. It is not a big deal. I have been asking nicely enough for months now.

Its the Digital Millennium Copyright Act which states that you do own the work you posted but at the same time you freely posted it, and you did so with out being forced witch means that once you hit post that post became property of gnet.
But yeah i don't think the admins should delete anything just cause someone asked them too, now if its something bad thats another case but in this case i say just leave it be.

Just curious- as I see some whose posts have been deleted-ish but their stamps are still seen- what does it take then to get not only banned (I am assuming banned) but deleted as well?

Well, partly it depends on who is doing the moderation. We've had different moderators, some more harsh than others. The ones that were a little farther down on the harsh-o-meter seemed to get a number of people here all agitated. So, we backed up a little bit on the strict approach and I think we've been trying to be pretty reasonable and flexible. When people's posts have been removed, some others were unhappy. People who had participated in conversations and people that had given well thought out feedback on things like poetry or whatever were justifiably less than thrilled to have portions of what they participated in just removed. Putting certain profiles on global ignore was just an expedient way to remove current problematic posts, but ultimately it wasn't the right approach. Generally speaking, the problematic post should be addressed, not the poster.
Personally, I don't see what is so wrong for someone to have posted their poetry for people to give feedback on, but it's selfish to then remove the work after you are done getting advice, just so you can pretend it's never been published anywhere.

How do I change "log me in automatically"? I accidentally checked that box on a shared computer, and I don't see a way to "un-check" it.

Try logging out (button at the top of the page on the far right) and then going back to the boards and logging in again.

I tried that. I logged out, and then when it re-directed me to the page I had been viewing, it automatically logged me in again. >_<

Weird. That worked for me. Did it tell you "all cookies cleared"?

I don't know, I'm not on that computer now.
I'll check again tomorrow.

I know this might make some people mad but...
I was wondering why there is not a Classified Ads section.
I now you have some kind of promotional section here and yes, I did post some ad there.
However, say I make some new items and I want to put in a "new items for sale" ad with links so that folks can click on 'em and look at the new stuff I have made.
I do not feel comfortable doing that on your present promotional section because I am afraid someone will get weird over it.
What if somebody has stuff in their closet and wants to get rid of it?
Guess they can't post it there, huh. Yeah, that might seem a little tacky but I was just wondering if anybody thought of featuring something like that for this website.
(I know.... HAREBRAINED ideas. There are a lot of other sites for that stuff!)

So I am now able to log out and re-direct to the main page without automatically logging in.
That must have just been a temporary problem, or something.

Please,,,Create a Games board and shift all those games from General. It's a pain to sift through all those threads to get to genuine discussion.

As for now, I wish that the calendar will show this new year. It's still stuck in December, 2006.

A "who's currently online" thing down near the bottom where it says who the newest member is. The screen names of the people... currently on the site.

We have the thing about the newest member.
Just click the link saying Gothic.net Community instead of the link saying Boards.
They're exactly the same except for some stats you can see below.
Though the thing that lists all the members doesn't work.

There was also a lot of negative nonsense, but sure, we'll restore it. I'm really not sure how much snarky abuse it is really reasonable to put up with in the name of a couple valid points though, particularly points that have been brought up in other threads and discussed in much more civil terms.
