Nothing wrong with taking up a view you don't necessarily agree with.
When I argue for something I'm against, I learn something myself.
Needless to say that religious people being insulted/threatened isn't the best way to spark a debate.
One also shouldn't put religious people in the same bag as fundamentalists.
The person I know who is more open-minded towards civil liberties, spirituality and how they interact is a devout christian catholic.

I agree the more you debate or
argue a subject the more you learn
about the subject you debating against,
and sometimes you learn a lil somethin more about
what it is your debating for.

HAHAHAHAHA Disfunction. I've always wanted to leave my mark on the world, I never thought it'd be a penis reference.
Maybe someone somewhere used that term, I dunno, but for all I know I thought of it first.
But please, use it.

This whole thread was started because someone was pissed about cyber affection?! And specifically about the affection between one couple, and not others?
Was she someone's ex, or something? Yeesh! How sad.
As for how I feel about it? Well, I certainly don't care to see anyone getting their freak on in actual public, where my kids can see it, but that's the Mommy in me. Besides, at that point, they're breaking the law anyway. Anything else, is not my problem and I'm a big girl, I don't have to look if it makes me uncomfortable. Of course, like most here, it generally only makes me really uncomfortable if I'm in single-status, and it's been a dry season, or something.
As for the cyber affection in here? I find it sometimes sweet, often entertaining, and very frequently funny.
Besides, I'm very affectionate both IRL, and cyber-wise, with people I feel comfortable with.
*slurps and snergles all who will allow her to*

I'm not personally into lip locking with people in public and all that fun stuff. It's just a general rule that I don't want to draw unwanted attention through (potentially) annoying stuff. Not only that, but I'm not all that sexual in the first place. I'm very reserved in that department, especially in public. Do I care if other people do it? Not really. It's about on par with the guy yacking really loud on his cellphone in the middle of a quiet area full of people or the person who lives above me auditioning for STOMP! at 5:45am on weekday mornings.
Mentioning PA in school is kinda funny. I remember way back in highschool, I was standing in line for the snack bar with a few people and this guy and his girlfriend were aimed right at us. Both were lip locked and the guy actually had his hand down the girl's pants and was fingering her right there. Needless to say everyone in line was laughing their asses off and we/I gave the guy shit for it later in Phys Ed. "Haha... Holy shit, you saw that?" "You didn't notice the 5 people standing in line right in front of you, pointing and laughing at that little scene?" Don't think he would have cared even if he did.

BP... this is the *funniest* story ever. You should tell it always and forever. He was fingering her on the cafeteria line? Oh man, that's a new low for humanity.

Well... methinks you've got me there, Stars!
And as I've been out and about...
Tell ya, I'm all nibbled-out!
Butt... my mechanical fingers are as magic as ever... see...
*scrotuuuuuumlickerlalalalala*
Fo'rill tho. I remember at least one of the threads in question.
And as for that, and all things, I'm all for public displays of affection.
It always puts a smile on my wee face to see young love, y'know.
And as this thready was deaded...
I figgid' I'd dig up this dead meat, slap 'er on the ass, and turn 'er out!
So cheers, Starry, for the welcome back!
And...
To those who question, this is a blast from the past... jack.
So just nod yer head and act like you know... kiddo.

I'm for public affection. I like holding hands or being held by my fiance (although he's not big on public affection). Public affection is good until you start obviously groping people in public and start making out to an almost pornographic degree.

I think its alright to show affection in public to a certain degree. I mean it was fucking cold this morning and my boyfriend drove up in the parking lot of the school and got out to hold my hand before he went to work (he got sent out of school for standing on top of his car and screaming at the principal (it was wicked awesome) so he got his ged).It was really sweet and it didn't disturb anyone. But I do remember one time I was sitting next to this couple in a movie theater one time and I swear they were trying to get pregnant right in there, that really annoyed me, it was distracting and they were making a lot of noise.

Freedom of Expression Encroached Upon
by: Conrad Black
In our politically charged society, it is easy to look on toward the bigger stories and let the smaller matters slip under the radar. This happens quite often, and serious issues, however small, are often ignored. Various forms of freedom of expression have been encroached upon, and the average student is perpetually unaware of all that is going on. Not only are t-shirts that hint at vulgarities deemed questionable for school dress codes, but even such means of self-expression as public displays of affection have been disallowed.
Hugging, kissing, fondling, molesting, fucking and the like are all frowned upon, and even something as slight as a mid-class hand-job could result in something as serious as suspension, potentially even expulsion. The audacity to institute such rules is something unthinkable, yet an everyday reality in our lives. The media doesn’t lie, we are sexual creatures born and raised, and we shouldn’t attempt to accept the lie that we are force-fed in school. Morality is outdated and over-rated, and indiscriminate sexual escapades are the wave of the present and the future.
When will it be a time for students to unite and stand up for their rights? Don’t just stand there and read this article! That’s what they want you to do, unaware of the rebellion stirring! It’s come time that you seek the most readily available means of expression and take to various locations within the school. Do not let traditional standards of morality weight you down as they have for so many years. It is a waste of teenage libido, and a shameful waste at that.
