I am Chuk

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)

I own a medium sized computer manufacturing/service company. I actually hate computers, I'm just really good at fixing and designing them. Long Live Linux!

2. Where are you from?

I have lived in 38 states, and two countries (USA/France). I currently live on a farm in Ohio where I can view the night sky unencumbered by clouds, with skunks and deer as my companions.

3. Who is your favorite author?

Dean Koontz.

4. What are your favorite films?

Just saw Snow White (2001, with Kristen Kreuk) and really loved it. Watch it with kids!

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

Everything Dies.

6. At your funeral?

I have a playlist...and instructions as to dress code, coffin style etc.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

Fighting for what is just.

8. What kind of casket would you want?

Black Oak. Lacquered. I shall create it as I have for others.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

Mmmm, which one that I own is my fav, or which is my fav that other people own? I wear a black outfit, of course, but my favorite outfits are worn by women. There are so many I like I find the question difficult to answer. Women are so beautiful in their gothic dress.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

Riding my bike all night and getting a coffee at five in the morning.

11. What's your favorite band?

I have to cover my heart with my hand, and proclaim Nightwish. "All this beauty's killing me".

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

I have a degree in computerized automotive powerplant technology and design, with a minor in Theology.

13. Why did you join?

I have been a goth for my entire life, without like friends. That is why I am here.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

A simple Man...

15. What kind of Goth are you?

The romantic.

(in the hills of Ohio late one night, the illumination of a full moon imparting a dim hazy glow to the low lying fog surrounding a lone house, a creature slowly emerges out of the mist: a deer. It walks up to the house, cautiously looking one way then another with each step. It's hooves gently tap as it climbs the porch, and looks inside a window of the dark house: a computer screen, dark except for the green dots of the keyboard LEDs. Then suddenly, the screen lights up, reflecting light in the deer's eyes as characters appear: )

Welcome.

Humane, thank you for the gift of your writing. A gift of yout time is a gift you can never get back, given to a stranger it is even more appreciated.

"The deer, not afear of green lights or even humans, is nevertheless startled when it looks to the bed nearby, and sees a familiar outline, one of black and white, two stripes down its back, curled up in a ball with its head hidden in the tail. 'A skunk doesn't belong in the human's house' it thought, but the scene captivated it enough to watch. As the human stretched and yawned, he retired to the bed, and put his arm around the skunk and made it his pillow. The skunk responded by yawning, its fangs tempered with its tongue licking its lips in contentment. Then the monitors turned themselves off, and all was still."

I've been a Goth all my life, but just recently got into the community. One of the things I have discovered is the selfless genorosity of the culture, whether it be gifts, drinks (at our local club), or, in this case, writing.

Question 15 was my own contribution.

Here is 16:
What influenced you to join the board? (Not the same question as who [username] influenced you.)

The headmistress of Gothic Charm School mentions this site frequently. She is truly the Dr Laura (no offense intended) of the Gothic culture. I send my daughter to the site frequently for advice. So Headmistress, if you read this, thank you for what you have already given me and mine.

It is truly an honor to know you.

I've been raising skunks for 10 years now, and they LOVE to be pillows. They like to get behind your neck when you drive. It's kind of a hoot when I go through a drive-through and order an order of chicken nugs for me and one "for the skunk", which is universally disregarded by whomever is taking the order. When I get to the window to pay, it usually goes like this....

"Um, mister, um, there's a SKUNK around your neck!"
"Oh, mmm, yeah, there seems to be..."
"Aren't you afraid to get sprayed?"
"Not if I get the chicken nuggets!"

I LOVE Sabrina...I got to see a lot of those strips, my customers bring them to me, I'm gonna post them around the store...thanks for the link!

I think your headmistress has to update her links. You seem eloquent, elegant, and elaborately enthusiastic, so I hope you won't be too disappointed with this place.

Welcome, Momento Mori. You just made me wish I had a skunk to put on my neck, something I'd have never considered before.

I look forward to reading your posts.

Skasteri, it is a human version. Kristen is absolutely beautiful, pale faced, jet-black hair and blood red lips. The Evil Stepmother is resplendent in gowns which would make any self-respecting Gothic lady pine. Why did I see it? I usually see films people recommend I see, if they know me. I also like really unusual films, including X-Rated (for gore, not sex) 70s B-Grade movies, and really weird stuff like Naked Lunch and Eraserhead.

Clockwork, thanks for the welcome. You can check out our extremely un-gothic website (disclaimer: I don't maintain it and it is REALLY shiny-happy) at www.skunksaspets.com, but the true pictoral goodies are found at http://www.matriarch.org/page%201.htm (clicking down your scroll wheel in Mozilla firefox opens a new tab)

Morrigan, thank you for the compliments. I once had a party, where only 8 out of 50 showed up. One was the very young but wise president of my car club. When I expressed to him my disappointment, he said, "All that matters is that I am here and that you are here." I have kept those words. So, as long as you, Humane, and clockwork are here, I am not disappointed.

Now off to The Dock, which goes Goth (and mostly straight) every Thursday.
A wonderful place, where your status is determined by how nice you are to others. I hope to find that here. I, too, hope I am not disappointed.

Absolutely not. My Father says we are all created equal.

Do you want to kill me, or befriend me?

Why I gotta choose?
