What to wear with this coat?

I managed to get a coat exactly the same for about £200, which I considure a good deal.

I am now wondering what to wear with it. One idea is this angelspit eyepatch, and a red armband, with a dr steel logo on it or a red cross, and also an officers cap.

Though this may make me look like a nazi, and may cause problems.

Anyone else got any ideas?

But really, the possiblities are endless with a good coat. Just browse through your closet and see what you can find. Or if there are certain looks you'd like to go for, watch a shit load of movies. They're great for quick clothing references. Googling period clothing featuring coats is good too. You can never go wrong with a good coat. Best of luck to you.

Wear a red armband if you don't mind getting beaten up or denied service in shops.

It's an awsome jacket and I totally want one... but don't wear an armband on it.

Lovely coat. Pair it with a good set of heavy duty black pants and spiky hair, maybe a collar of some sort.

Red armband is not a good thing. I would give that a pass.

I have such mixed feelings about the fascist military look. On one hand it looks cool, on the other it always creeps me out a bit. I guess I like it on other people but would feel uncomfortable wearing it myself, probably because I had family die in the camps. But I have to admit, that coat is still pretty fuckin sweet. I think the intensity of the coat would be complimented best with less intense pants, hair etc. Personally I think too many "Cool" things put together ends up looking bad. Like aviator sunglasses are cool, A frilly black victorian era shirt is cool, big black leather boots with buckles are cool, and red hair is cool (sometimes,) but all of them put together would probably just look silly and "mallgothy." That coat is really cool, so maybe just wear simple black or brown slacks with it, and nothing else showy like gloves, collars etc. And it would also look really cool with long, natural colored hair, preferably wavy or fro-ish, though these things might be difficult to achieve if thats not just how your hair is. But yeah, sweet coat! good luck!

I can see white gloves fitting well with those. Then just large boots, and maybe a spiked collar. Perhaps. I like the eyepatch idea, but I'd avoid the arm band. Your choice.

Not really. Alot of fashion designers have tackled goth before John Paul Gautier in particular.

Then again this jacket is not really goth, mearly military based, which could be intergrated in goth quite well.

Actually random fact, the nazi uniform was designed by hugo boss.

It is a lovely jacket. I would say a smart shirt with some sort of silver buttons and lovely millitary styled boots would be good. Also, really dark sun glasses. (I will have to look for pictures.) Ah, and that attitude. If you can pull off that chilly, yet slightly dangerous air, it just is so much more unsettling that any amount of spiked and studed gear any time of the weak, but enough of my drooling...

Hmmm... Maybe shiny PVC pants with matching boots. Go with a slicked back hair style and you'd be screaming "sex me up!!!", without saying it.

Hmm some may think me a heretic for this. But I am going to customise this coat when I get it ina few days (cheque has cleared wohooo!)

I am sewing on toy soildier badges onto the arms (the yellow ones).

I am also thinking of other ways to customise it.

I think it'd look good with tight black jeans. Or just...complete the uniform, but that might be just a tad too much. That's almost crossing the line between cool and a bit "off."

i'd definetely pair it with some dark tight pants but NOT with combat boots. i definetely wouldn't want to look like a nazi.
unless you're into that whole racist homophobic scene.
even if you were i wouldn't because in my town...you'd be mowed down in a matter of seconds.

anyways, i'd probably add kitten heeled knee lengthed boots, tight black skinny jeans, white frilly shirt and probably some kind of cute top accesory (meaning hat or scarf)....
