Ok, first off, the kind of attitude mentioned here, would imply that one who is even remotly a goth would have a very heart felt longing that the world DID NOT SUCK.
The actions of those fools at Columbine were highly violent and hateful. There was nothing romantic or decadent about going to a school and wasting a building full of innocent children. They were sick and they needed help.
Goths may breed aggression, we may breed a darker aesthetic and a dark sense of the romantic aspects of life, but so far, I have NEVER seen a goth advocate such acts of hate.
For fuck's sake, if I remember correctly, those fools thought Hitler was the shit.
And, to finish it off on a lighter note, I would like to quote Rogue from Cruxshadows.
"Do not injustice to another.
Defend the weak and innocent.
Let truth and honor always guide you.
Let courage find a life within.
Stand up when no one else is willing.
Act not in HATRED or in spite.
Be to this world as a perfect knight.
Even if it means your life."
Those fools in Columbine didn't even come close to these kind of HEROIC values.
Everyone, sorry for being cheesy and quoting a gothic artist like this, but I think Rogue said it best in this case.

doent mean it is so
it is only because of there veiws we have been cast out
so now we stand with a soul rejected by all

like god said " the earth was full of darkness and my energy swayed back and forth on it surface " so he said "let there be light"
the world was then a new place
if it is in your heart
you will as said, stand when no one else will
if you do, the energy swaying in the dark will sway nolonger
and there will be light unseen yet vibrating in the shadows
a new world with flames of passion yet a mask of darkness awakes
and you will sleep nolonger
but to enter you must live by one rule
once you have decidied to be this bird of the night
you must never let these presumptuous people in
because they are now lost souls, screaming demons
driving people to do unspeakable things
In short there no goth

Deep Insight, I like your poetic ways of expression. It's nice. But, though I could be misinterpreting you, there are some things a person just doesn't want to associate with. Though goth is quite black, it's more than likely not like a void kind of black, all encompassing.
There is a certain spirit within the young one, but in all honesty, he's skirting things that if not guided, he could fall to the way side of something that isn't goth and something that is generally looked down upon by the majority of society. In that, if he went that direction, he would find that only his bravery to be an outright ass is his only perverted virtue.
Then again, I could be misinterpreting your poetic talk.
