Not alternative enough O_o????

Okay I was kinda felt insulted today.

Planning a group to go to the slimelight in london to celebrate my mates 21st.

I asked one of our mates, who we dont see that much, and the comment she gave, really pissed me off, though I know that was not her intention.

Apparently me, and the others wont get in, because we are not wierd looking enough.....O_o...

Now, I dress in a style that uses some victorian ideas, and some of my own. E.g. pinstripe troursers, old victorian stlye train longcoat, black shirt, H.Naoto or cyberdog tie, and somtimes an alchemy gothic cane, and some giant mickey mouse gloves from disney land.

......yet for some reason I am not "alternative" enough to get into sliemlight, so I am going to shock her, and go even wierder to make her shut the hell up.

Any ideas to turn up the wierdness abit?

This is fucking stupid.

What anoys me about mainstream culture is that a lot of people "demand" that you follow certain rules(dresscode, norms, musical taste, etc....).

What pisses me off even more is when this happens in subcultures. When subcultures have rules and they "force" these on people and claim some aren't "weird" enough... well then they've become what they thought they where against, then they've behaving in the same way as the fascist-like mainstream culture. They've killed the concept of what they are.

btw. I think Eplefe would have good answers to your questions...

Well, you could always wear makeup, and a tophat.
That seems to be the only thing missing.
But anyways, just the fact that you WANT to get in to slimelight should be proof enough that you're "alternative enough", which btw is really stupid, even though the place is mostly for alternative people, I don't see any reason denying "normal" people getting in there.
But anyways, if you want to look more alternative, I need to know how you look on an ordinary basis.
Pictures, please!

I like the solution of offing her and wearing her skin. Seriously you should be able to dress how you want and be accepted for it.

I've never heard of anyone not getting into slimelight because of not looking alternative enough. If my scumbag ex and his little "oh-so-goth" (aka very bad make up) friends can get in I'm sure you can.
You're paying for the pleasure after all.

Wait, did your friend say this or the club bouncers? Because...she might not know what the hell she's talking about.

Blue jeans n' a Tee.

You'll look completely out of place.

Just get a second opinion. I think she's sore.

Or it could be that your friends are the ones who aren't weird enough; you sounded fine to me, based on your description.

The tee has to be of Jimmy Buffet though. It's the only way you'll make the bouncer shudder and say, "go ahead."

why don't you do just what the hell you want to do.
or you should at least stop aiming to be "wierd"....
you can aim to "dress up" for the night.
same concept where people dress nicely for nights out on broadway and opera, just that you're applying it to something different.

maybe make things a bit more dramatic, like taking what you already have up a notch, making a bigger statement with hair and make up, and adding accesories. yay.

NS, are you too lazy to move your pinkie to the shift key? If you are, I can take a bus right up there and cut your pinkie off for you, so you never even have to THINK about using it. It's not too long a bus ride. 4 hours at most.

why the hell do you have a problem with the way i type?
Are you happy now? Now? How about now?
Oh, wait, the sentences are in fragments. Oops. I'm gonna get a another flame concerning my horrible horrible english skills.

seriously, isn't there anything else you can comment on apart from my noncapitilization? i swear...it's not even related to the thread. i don't see you post relavant to the topic before or even after you decided to critisize the way i type. i didn't come to this problem to look for problems and have flame wars with random kids on the internet that i'd probably never even see in real life! please! that's ridiculous! i came to this forum because i genuinely want to talk to people who have simular interests that i do, instead of argue with people every time someone decides that my spelling/grammar/punctuation is incorrect.

i kindly ask you...fuck off.

i also beg you...please don't take a four hour bus ride down just to cut off my pinkies.i live right next to the cop building and it can't be too fun for you to have to call your parents from the police station explaining exactly why you happen to be there. i'm also guessing now that you mention it you are technologically skilled enough to use an ip (if you do believe that this is my IP adress...) and track and find exactly where i live? nice try because i have wireless and pick up signal from a neighbor, one of whom i have a quite a few of. have fun trying to find me in the middle of an extremely large packed community full of high school kids. and i also like to throw out that giving threats over forums isn't the most legal thing either.
just thought you might wanna know, you know?

please grow up.
contribute to the topic and forget scavengering around for other peoples mistakes.

thank you.

You freaked out. Lol.

First of all, you spelled criticise wrong. Also, you didn't "come to this problem."

What the fuck do you mean "i kindly ask you...fuck off.[SIC]"
That's kind?

Take heed, this is a "Bone Chilling Literary Culture."
Don't believe me? Read right under Gothic.net.

I still can't believe you wrote an essay how much of a jerk I am. xD

Also, I do have a comment on something other than your horrible skills: It makes me eyes bleed to read that drivel.

I'm actually quite surprised no one else has flamed you yet. It usually would have been instantaneously.

Let me point out, Nightmare Syndrome, that your post was more useless than Maggot's telling you to write well.
Besides, as it's a free country, we can reserve al rights not to like you for something as simple as not spelling correctly.
So, if you really want to 'talk to people who have simular interests that' you do, then you would compromise your pointless pride in writing in such a stupidly incorrect manner of which you clearly have knowledge.

Maybe it's trying to make an "Every Day is Halloween" point?

"...and I dress this way/just to keep them at bay..."

Flame wars are so fun. Especially when I'm winning... Which I usually am.

Flame wars are childish and immature. Also, Capitalisation is far from necessary.

Fiery indeed.
On topic, f*ck all that bollocks if I'm paying somewhere to go somewhere I'm going to wear just what I want. How the hell can you not be alternative enough? Someone sounds like they're full of it....

Of course it is. No offense NS, but it is hard to read. Note, I used no profanity. I don't like being yelled at.
