Don't blame me for there being so much shit passing for industrial these days.

They're all fucking EBM/Synthpop hybrids. blech.
Real rivetheads hate the people who think it's k0re.

I use k0re tongue-in-cheek for uhh... "Thing".
You know what I mean.

I'm not blaming you, just pointing out the irony in being elitist about music that is becoming mainstream. Nowadays you can use the word Electro to describe it and be half right, WHAT'S WITH THAT?

I have no idea, man. It's bleak.

I don't consider the synthpop/EBM bands industrial. Futurepop bands are lame as well. I consider them shit.
They do slow songs and songs about love. What the fuck is that? That's not industrial! Industrial's about stomping on people's souls! Oh, and politics. I love the political songs.

whoops, forgot the s man.

As for numbers... I'll take a big one like 993412.2, something cool like that.

There are pro's about something coming mainstream. It gets cheaper!!! and i don't have to do special shopping, this just shows my laziness...

It gets cheaper? I have not noticed this phenomenon. Though I have noticed it becomes easier to find.
So, on a related note...
WHY CAN'T MORE PEOPLE LIKE GOTH ROCK.

... assholes.

Goth rock is too sad. I rather deathrock to it. And further, I prefer [real] punk to that.

Sad music makes me sad. Why would I want that? I prefer my punk and industrial to make me ANGRYYYY!

By the way, Romantirivet is pretty much steampunk. Steampunk has no set style of music, so industrial can work for it.

I think you have enough of that, mister. Being angry has gotten me kicked out of too many places. (Ha! I did it 'cause I didn't want to be there!)

Okay, seriously... Steampunk is purely an aesthetic and idea. There is, as far as I can tell, no way in hell someone can make Steampunk music. I really can't see how that would even work.

Now, if you don't mind, I'm putting Panzer on. Well, trying to. The damn CD Rom is acting up.

Actually, it's impossible for there to be steampu nk music. There have been attempots, but as steampunk is really a form of fiction, from a made-up point in time, we really don't know the music from it.

On the other hand, the whole "romantic rivethead" thing falls square into the category of steampunk. See what I mean?

I think something was lost in translation.
I don't know why you're offended. o_o

Oh, no. I'm sorry, I'm not offended at all.

I was just conversing with you. My bad. Emotion does not travel well in text it seems.

Goth is SAD?!!?

If one more person says that I may start to believe that I am emotionally fucked up. I think it's one of the funnest and happiest styles of rock, after Ska that is. Ska pwns all in the way of happiness.

It travel horribly in text.

But a romantic rivet really fits steampunk to a "T".

A dystopic timezone, seemingly of the romantic era? Romantic rivethead. :O

And happydude, I'm not talking about, let's say Siouxsie or Bauhaus. I'm not talking about ASF. I'm talking about, say, the Sisters of Mercy, or Rosetta Stone.

I guess you're thinking first wave and I'm thinking second.
Deathrock is really happy and fun, though. !
[Hey, why aren't you IMing me back?]

On MSN? I'm not recieving anything.

The Sisters of Mercy aren't Goth - They are a gloomy Hard Rock band, they have next to nothing in common with the other (early) Goth bands. No jangly guitar, no dub, no tribal-esque drumming. Not Goth.
Unfortunately, I've only heard Rosetta Stone's material post-Industrial revolution, so I cannot comment on their gloominess.

The second wave of goth rock was just gloomy hard rock. :P

I generally prefer the first wave. It wasn't originally called "positive punk" for nothing.

SoM has a place in my heart, though.

That's because the second wave were just SoM/Banshees clones, depending on the gender of the vocalist.

First wave Goth ist krieg!

I like SoM, but I personally don't consider them to be a Goth band.
