Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

the Misfits
One of the greatest horror punk bands ever HAS to have a thread. I was really surprised they didn't have one already. What are your opinions on them? Glenn's good ol' Misfits or the modern metal version?
Yet again, when one of the greatest bands loses its vocalist, it goes metal. Christian Death went metal when Rozz died and now the Misfits go metal when Glenn quits. WTF? Of course, I much prefer the original Misfits. They were real pioneers in punk, and all these pop-punk goth-wannabe bands these days wouldn't have anyone to attempt to COPY if it weren't for the Misfits. XD
My favorite songs are "Skulls", "Hatebreeders", and "Teenagers From Mars". I also love "We are 138"... but then again, I love em all. Your turn.

I love the Misfits with Danzig, but the other singers can suck it. I think Danzig has such a sexy voice. My favorite songs are "Skulls," "Hybrid Moments," and "Attitude."

I have to agree with you there. I love Glenn's voice; it's phenomenal.
However, I much prefer Samhain over The Misfits. Musically speaking, they're far superior.

Gotta love The Misfits, but not so much the excess of mallgoths who listen to the new Misfits and have never heard of Glenn Danzig.

Misfits are great; I do indeed adore aspects of their image. Though I'd have to say I haven't heard much of their recent work. I've heard "American Psycho(-woah-O)" and to be quite honest, I'm not a fan of their recent stuff. So I'd have to go with oldschool misfits all the way. Oh, I'm deeply sorry to say this, but Draco I remember hearing The Misfits influenced (gag and gulp) My Chemical Romance...

Yeah, the NEW Misfits sound like a nu-metal band trying to emulate the OLD Misfits. Fuck that. I'll just avoid the crap and go with the original thing.
