| Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Well, I only found "I'm not Okay (I Promise)" in video form on MTV.Com. -_-
Their guitarist is too good for them. They used to sound like an 80s hair band if it was powerpop. :P
It actually threw me back into when I listened to Good Charlotte and Simple Plan. >.>
Jesus, my life sucked at that point. I was actually really scared back then.
I can't find the goddamn interview, though.

Pardon my spelling. Yes, it's Suberranean. Sorry 'bout that. The worst thing I've ever listened to was that Ska shit like "Reel Big Dick" and "The Aquadildos" XD
Also, this is really off topic, but I thought it was funny how you called bands like Barenaked ladies and their genre utter shit. In fact, you said, "That's shit to me." I forgot the genre though...but it made me crack up...
-_-
Now I'm talking to everyone here as if I know them... :/

By the end of the show, I was nearly in tears. I'm serious too, I had drops welling up in the corners of my eyes. It was that horrible.

Undoubtedly, this is the foulest shit I've heard all week and it makes my stomach twist knots inside me. Yeah, I'm angry. But did it ever matter what the mainstream thinks about us? Let them be misinformed, it doesn't have to make the slightest difference underground.

Yeah, let the mainstream be misinformed like they are about everything. They don't have the intelligence to read between the lines. Hell, it's as easy as snapping a finger to tell the difference between real goths/goth bands and baby bats/pop goth band anyway.

Oh, yes, and MCR are definitely not goth. They even called themselves emo at one point and we all know emo has NOTHING in common with goth besides, maybe social outcastism.

After watching the video I can tell Gerard's trying to suck up to Peter. He seems to bring these "goth" influences out nowhere too. I remember not long ago he referred to MCR as emo.
Peter mentions the goth look an effort to escape the music industry whereas bands like MCR are efforts BY the music industry to market rebellion.
And look at when they start talking about modern goth. Peter slumps over! And when Gerard says the Smiths were bleak but cheery, Peter rolls his eyes! XD

Listen to MCR's sound. It has NOTHING in common with goth, I think you'll agree. It sounds so much like screamo it's ridiculous. it lacks the slow beats, the tribal drums, the minor guitar emphasis... it's just not goth. I'm not going to call a fast-upbeat-hook-fillled-screamo band a slow-downbeat-tribal-underground-goth band. They're just exact opposites. If Gerard is goth, which I sincerely doubt, I rest my case.

I just finished the video and guess what I just heard! ^_^
Gerard: "We come from a place that's very punk, like the Misfits, in New Jersey. That, to us, was kind of-"
Peter: "That's more how I would cite you guys, My Chemical Romance, for sure. Not this gothic thing."
-Peter Murphy (Bauhaus) vs. Gerard Way (MCR) on MTV's Subterranean
That is going on my sig.

nah, emos just think they're outcasts so they pretend to be sad and push people away. Real goths have lots of (or at least some) good friends who appreciate them for who they are.

It was someone's introduction. Also, sorry for my SKA insult, Clockwork, but I used to be around a bunch of arses who loved it-but the modern crap and not original Jamaican stuff. Regardless I'm not a fan. And Cyntrox, thank you very much for the notification~! I was originally going to leave here with those many posts but...meh...
Draco, our goth activist work is steaming just through our posts! Yeah Gerard speaking of the goth concept of beauty was insulting. They even consider themselves emo at a point as you mentioned, which of course has nothing in common with goth. In short: MCR is just a gimmick band and Gerard isn't emo nor goth, but just a "poser". I hate to disrespect musicians like this but I'd have to say this is their image. I bet you that four years ago he was just some overweight nerd conformist eating donuts in a comic book shop (as he describes himself) so was lured into the image with commericalism.

Emos are people too. Hell, goths and emos both get ridiculed daily, so we should help each other out and fight the REAL enemy: the mainstream. I don't have a problem with real emos. I just have a problem with people that get into emo (or goth or metal) to be cool or rebellious or whatever, and people who refuse to learn the roots of their chosen subculture when offered. So, in closing, lay off the emos. They're the most targeted people for acts of racism in modern society.

C'mon, that's not true. I don't think I'm emo and I don't believe in having lots of good friends. There's nothing wrong w/ being an outcast as long as you don't harbor ill will toward all people because they don't understand you. You could just be one who enjoys their own company. Back on topic. Sorry.

Sorry, didn't know you'd pull out the flamethrowers. Draco, you'r right about how the two groups should support each other. Some of my good friends identify with "emo" and I was just pissed at one (damn you justin) So I apologise if I sounded insensitive. It's a bad habit.

Grrr Maggot Grrr you posted that u r posterrr111111 hEY everyone whose extremely pissed at MCR-browse youtube for the Barney Bunch's My Chemical Romance secret album-it's really immature but it speaks a lot with homosexual overtones (not homophobia or violence against gays but just to piss off the MCR fans in general, no particular tags).
