Lilith's Lullaby

Lilith's Lullaby
by A. Sethran

Sleep Little One....
Don't be afraid.
You'll
Never see
The Hell men made.
Dream
You're sweet dreams.
Never ask why...
God
Has sent you
To hell to die...
Where bombs blow babies
and mothers apart
and food is short
and so are hearts.
Shattered souls,
Whose hearts are gone,
Struggle on and
On.
Dream
You're sweet dreams
Of what cannot be.
Close
You're eyes
and come away with me.
From a world where
devils rule,
and liars speak
the golden rule.
Shattered minds,
Whose hopes are gone
Asking why
On and on.
Ever
The same
never look back.
I
Will hide you
away in the black.
All my children
sing and play
Since I took
Them far away.
Shattered World,
endless dawn,
Give me your breath
Now your gone...

qlipothica, that was great. It beats the lulluby my gram sang any day

Here's a couple more poems of mine.
~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`

It is a chill
that seeps beneath my broken flesh
your hand has left its upon my heart
Silence is my code
I couldn't tell my closest confidant
but the words spilled from my eyes as rain
Punnished for my insurrections
Screaming for the gods
crying that I let this happen
Your eyes flash like lightning to my soul
I raise my arms to recieve your punishing memory
by the rays of luna I wander
betwixt gardens of fragrent thought
If sleep befalls me, you descend upon me once again
angry to my escape
someone needs to tell me you cannot touch me here

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
an old one:

I look into my mind
your eyes are staring back
I try so hard to banish you from my thoughts

It is amazing to me
that you still disturb my sleep
I am not permitted to scream in the terror I feel

Becoming more comfortable
with what you did and my own skin
I told my best friend about you

She was sworn to secrecy
Still I cannot bear to see you mad
Sad that they will never meet you

Another Mount

These words are short.
My path is consisted of strife
Like some bird flying with clipped wings,
I'M CRASHING UPWARDS!!
These words are short.
An impending doom that makes me better.
I am drawn into the gravity of the moment.
Wandering minds will learn
And again I am the creep.
I see the scale of the mountain
And David is not in his office today.

yo

The first on is about my goofy childhood:

Wind brushed air slides on my early head,
Running like fish through cool water,
In old fields of fallen fruit, ripe color.
Emotions fly through my mind of young,
Sweet aroma of grass, green, ever
In the fields of my grandmother I played.

The bell rings, a golden bright color,
For it is time to eat, drink water.
As I run back, my fair haired head,
Does want, when I am done, to play.
In lands where you keep youth forever,
And when I arrive, I see, fellow young.

Before my brother was born of young,
I came here to stay, while parents played,
In big glass buildings, silver in color.
But now I ate, and spilled my water,
Hurried to finish, to run still ever,
But another finished, alas was ahead.

Nathanial by name, my rival young,
Remote powered car, red in color.
Sped on floors, like boats over water,
He sat down, I envied, he did play.
So sleek, so fun, I wanted ever,
To hold, as if mine, up, up to my head.

I asked if I could, sit, and help play,
He laughed, and pushed, I fell forever.
Cried for hours, envy’s green color,
Tears of cold, like rivers of water.
But when I was done, a plan in head,
I tottled up “Please?” I asked awing, young.

But no matter my want to come play,

He laughed, yelled, and turned away his head.
No matter how asked, eyes like water,
I never could win, no not ever.
But now looking back, when I was young,
I see many more things, many more colors.

For water is water, a head is a head,
Nothing is ever fair play when you’re young,
Ah but a question, is it ever?

The rose
A feather from a raven’s wing
The bird of night starts to sing
Of falling stars and secrets kept
Of dreams of dark and long nights slept.

The raven sits down in her nest
As the red sun sets in the west
When the moon begins to rise
The nighten gale does start his cries

In the shyness of his sad song
He hides and sings 'till morning dawn
As birds take flight for sun is here
A rose glistens with morning’s tears

true dat! lol, just had to say it, sorry.

As the world warms
my eyes freeze over
vision impaired by the frost
when the people rejoice
my shadow recoils
this season holds no appeal
The warm comforts
but the sun burns cruelly
like ciggarettes on skin
bring me the fog
bring me the humidity
but for the love of my skin
obscure the sun with clouds

I see myself in three dimensions,
one is life,
one is death,
the last one,
abstract and mysterious,
is time.

We know not our lifespan, but our lives.
We know our final destiny in which lies my second dimension, but not the hour that the destiny will come.
And the final third dimension,
we may know everything, but one thing that will remain an eternal mystery is time.

Well, I don't really like this at all, but I'll take a wild guess and say that maybe some of you will.

How can I expect you
to accept me when I cannot
accept myself.

I may be pushing you away but
it's because I'm scared of the
future's promise.

All I have is myself because
I have let my fear override my
concerns for the outside world.

I laugh, I bother, I won't shut up
about myself just to keep
the world out.

But now the world is breaking
the mirror I was trying
to use for navigation.

You seem to know your way
around this bright place, do you
think you could help me?

Show me how wrong I am and
don't be scared to tell me
just how annoying I am.

Life is to be learned, it is
not something I can just watch,
can you teach me how to LIVE?

I don't like it

The feelings come across clearly, but I think more symbolism would make it better somehow.

For example, you did use symbolism in:

"But now the world is breaking
the mirror I was trying
to use for navigation."

But this came across as unwieldy for some reason. Maybe:

"But my looking glass was shattered,
silver shards flung wide
as the world's mighty wake
crushed over me"

I don't know. Something like that. Does that make sense?

If it makes me jump from bed
and begin to bang my head
If it's dark and steady beat
makes me tap my feet
When the women shake their hips
and echo lyrics with their lips
then it's genre matters not
and the critics can go rot!

Hello,
I haven't been around in awhile, but I just wrote a poem I felt the need to show someone.
Anyhow, because of the Virginia Tech shooting and also because of it's 8th anniversary, Columbine's been on my obsessive mind lately.
So this poem is partially inspired by it:

Alien Nation

The words you say do not make sense
Because you do not believe them
Because it’s like you never said them

I died the other day,
I told you, but you didn’t listen
I thought about screaming,
But you wouldn’t hear me

Tragedies happen and words are said,
But no one really learns,
None of us remember, None of us change

We each go on, narcissists in our own way,
And me most of all.

Sometimes I think that maybe I know,
I know the ideas, but not the actions,
The thoughts speak to me, but the gun does not.

Sometimes I know too much,
Or think I know too much,
Or simply just think too much.

Do you feel the way I do?
I often ask that silent question,
And you say yes,
but I think you lie.

We are an Alien Nation,
And none of us know each other,
And we never will.

Thanks! There was a debate about Goth Metal, Goth Rock, Death Rock, etc. in another thread ("Music-->>Goth Metal" methinks), and since I like all of the above, I wanted to express that I simply like what I hear.

hmm, don't know if I've already posted it, but it probebly won't hurt to have more of my stuff on here:

Music

swaying
bodies
intoxicating
rhythm
this song
this voice
this music
will be my end

sweeping
skirts
pulsating
speakers
this wave
of sound
it drags me
down and down

leather
trench coats
sky scraping
boots
disembodied
dancers
hazy
souls

this escape
this comfort
this sense
makes me calm
the smells
comfort me
in movement
i let go

ethereal
chorus
guttural
screams
this message
this musician
this style
gothic
splendor
metallic
rocking

this ancient art
this worshipping trance
this freeing movement
It is
escape
it is
euphoria

~~~~~~~~~~
yellow walls
searching for knowledge
suffocation, one for whom
knowledge is her only friend
paint them red
cover knowledge with power
passion, luck
goddess knows she needs it
red like fire
consuming her
a cold fire
it looks warm, seems to dance
reach in, it is cold
frozen, lifeless
it burns in a vain attempt
mocking what it once was
its effort only results in self destruction
fire always burns itself into ashes
no matter how cold
I like this, raggedyanne, because the series of images imparted the feeling, the presence of the experiences you were describing, rather than a flowery left-brained description.
Different.
Rambling down in the Mumbles,
amidst the Scatters
over other reaches
of this child's memories
of her father's childhood,
or even her own places
as told to her by her father
too soon forgotten.
Been a day of morning injury
and ten thousand yard stares
Sloth should be more cathartic,
and I am left with itchy hands
for want of some work.
Even the skies conspire against
As the opened window
Lets the rain in.
They are a low-lying, sandy pit just South of White Hall, Arkansas. Something about the acoustics there made even a scream sound muffled. We also called it "The Pits" for brevity's sake, but "the Mumbles" was the more poetic name my uncle gave it.
"The Scatters" is a wooded area , or it used to be, by the Gaylord paper Mill out in Jefferson County where we used to roam and hunt- a place that no one seemed to ever get a grasp of, everyone got lost. It was marsh, bayou and pine. When the day began to fade and the sun's light began to filter low through the pollution from the mill, it created a biomechanical nebula of orange and violet. reeked of ammonia and pine.
Shat Upon
A man, making his way in this mean old world.
A man, of spirit and passion. Shat upon.
Is he going to stay in the shadows, quietly waiting for the silent majority to stamp him out ?
No he will not remain a victim, shat upon.
What happened to him in his lifetime ?
Instead of letting things happen to him, he has learned to make things happen for him.
Now he is a victor. No longer shat upon.
