Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

Old Newbie looking for and OLD song...

Yeah, I'm an old guy... I was goth as hell on the outside in the 80s, and early 90s -- now just on the inside.

Anyway, my question is this: In the late eighties, maybe early nineties, there was a song that used to play the goth clubs. (Boston's Spit, and Batcave - and New Haven' Grotto club, if anyone's interested).

The song was dark, synthy, dancey and featured church bells -- unfortunately, that's about as good i can do, description-wise.

Any ideas?

Dude, you need lyrics or something, at least. Do you know how many songs you just described? I'm terribly obsessed w/ the type of music you just described SO unless you can give us some more information my recommendation is that you get on this web-station that is described as Goth/80s/Dance. It's called DarkSynth, and you can find it on live365.com. It plays all of that dark synthy stuff, and if it doesn't play what you're looking for exactly, it will rekindle lots of fond memories and probably satisfy your thirst for synthpop.

By the way, I have no affiliation w/ this station at all, and it's free. It's just what I'm into, and I'm trying to help you out.

I know, people, I know... Not the best description in the world, but I appreciate your responses.

I will try the webstation, but meanwhile, if anybody can give me, say, five ideas of what song it might be, that wouldn't suck.

Thanks!

No, and I promise I'm not being mean. That doesn't work like that. You just described almost all of the music in the genre.

I just busted out the song's church bell hook in GarageBand. It's an .AIF file.

Is there a way to upload the file to this thread in a post?

Duh. Just read to bottom of the page, where it says, I may NOT post attachments...

Just when or how do I access this privilege?

Intro posted.

Not sure why it's required, but posted none the less!

Thanks Mrs. Wes.

Don't feel bad. I never read instructions either and my ontro came pretty late. I hope you like the station.

You can use megaupload.com to upload it -or- you can send me the file and I'll put it on my FTP server for everyone to dillyload. It's arc_a2007@y_ahoo.com in case you're interested. (remove the underscore)
