I Like Porn.

Really, I do. I also wanted to catch your attention.

1. What do you do?

Currently in life, I'm a parasite off my parents whom I respect with much gratitude. After I graduated hell's crater that is high school, I decided to take a year off and work on an art portfolio to a school I had already been rejected from. But I am the stubborn type so I insisted I try again. After countless hours of life drawing classes, observing breathing creatures and sending in all my work I was once again denied from this institution.

And if you're asking what school I'm talking about... let's just say Tim Burton, Paul Reubens, Danny Elfman and Henry Selick are on the list of their successful alumni.

I still draw despite what some high council of artists may think of me and plan to go to a junior college later this year. I want to create a comic book that many of you will pick up some day. I also enjoy listening to music, dancing in the aisle of your local liquor store, making faces at security cameras and stare back at people who I catch looking at me.

I don't have a job but I desperately want one. You'd think people would be more tolerant of others this day and age but I guess many managers have a problem that my hair is pink or red.

2. Where are you from?

Southern California.

3. Who is your favorite author?

To be honest, I don't read things from any particular authors. Right now I'm divulging myself in classic literature. The last book I read was The Picture Of Dorian Grey and I'm thinking about picking up The Scarlet Letter next.

I also usually head to the comics first when at a book store. With this said, I adore Roman Dirge, Voltaire and Jhonen Vasquez. I want to start reading Gloomcookie eventually.

Other than that, I enjoy the text on the back of the cookie box and the junk mail delivered by that man in shorts.

4. What are your favorite films?

Moulin Rouge, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Rock & Rule, Buffalo '66, Mysterious Skin, Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Yellow Submarine, Live Freaky! Die Freaky!, Hedwig & The Angry Inch, Pulp Fiction, But I'm A Cheerleader!, Punch-Drunk Love, Pan's Labyrinth, The Iron Giant, Little Nicky... There's a good number so I won't bother putting them all up here.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

I'd like a string quartet performing various songs by The Cure during the actual ceremony. I don't fancy the idea of having a reception. I'd rather just go straight to the honeymoon and get my knickers off.

6. At your funeral?

The score from Requiem For A Dream.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

Over a caffeine over dose. My body will be found keeled over a drawing board, coffee spilled over my medium and soaking into my hair... Friends will say I hadn't slept in many days because I was trying to finish some massive art project by a certain deadline.

8. What kind of casket would you want?

I'd rather be cremated. I don't like the idea of being a zombie. Let my ashes be and place them somewhere around Disneyland, preferably The Haunted Mansion during its Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. No need to scatter them though.

Just like that one legend...

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

I haven't found the perfect one yet.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

The awesome toys that came with kids meal and the excuse to get so excited/amused over something just because you were little. Nowadays, if you happily scream over the fact you found some hair clips you've always dreamed of having, people will give you a funny look.

11. What's your favorite band?

I can't just pick one! Right now I'm really into Angelspit. I also love The Dresden Dolls, Mindless Self Indulgence, Psyclon Nine, Jack Off Jill, The Birthday Massacre, I Am Ghost and A.F.I. I hold a soft spot for The Cure and Siouxsie & The Banshees.

Half of my musical library is composed of soundtracks. This also means I like showtunes. I grew up on musicals.

I love music in general so my tastes aren't defined to one genre. I admit I still like the Spice Girls and *NSYNC. I just can't tolerate most of these emo wails on the radio or incessant rap and hip hop.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

At the moment? High school diploma.

I've been in a Catholic institution for 12 years. It's nice to be free from that.

My intended major will is a BFA in Animation.

13. Why did you join?

I recently abandoned another forum that I dearly loved but was bombarded by horrific newbies that wailed with fan girl moans in every thread. There were no rules on board etiquette. We were required to be pleasant towards be each other but I appreciate a forum that encourages flaming to a considerate level while still holding a sense of respect to each user.

Not to mention I'm interested in making some friends. I'm the only 'spooky' one in my group and it'd be nice to make a snarky comment without being groaned at how [apparently] morbid/pessimistic I am.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

Female.

---

Here's a question for you... How long does a sprained ankle fully heal?

I recently injured my left ankle after a show on St. Patrick's Day. I had mission boots with heels on and decided to be cute and dance while I crossed the street. Instead I tripped and hurt myself. So I couldn't walk properly for a week.

This past Wednesday, the swelling went down somewhat so I decided to put the same pair on for the day. When I took them off, my ankle was bruised and swelling again no matter how careful I walked earlier. It was probably the way my foot was angled while I had them on...

How long should I lay of these boots?

And can you direct me to a store where I can get some new ones that are comfortable and nearly accident free? I'm short and I'd like to feel tall again soon.

I have ADD or something like that, so I couldn't be bothered to read all of this. I can say from what I have read that I like your style of writing. Especially for someone who's still in high school. I also like your homepage. You seem cool and interesting.

Ooo. I like you. The Dresden Dolls are a good "band" and the Picture of Dorian Grey is probably one of my most favourite books ever. One day, if I ever do drugs, (which I don't intend to) I want to watch Yellow Submarine at the same time. I believe that would be a most amusing experience. Sorry about your foot...try Arnica gel. I'm a big believer in the power of homeopathic stuff. And thanks for answering the sticky without being asked to. And posting such complete answers. And bye bye now.

Ps. On the "I want your attention" note, you got it.

Saint Patrick's Day? Sounds like you've sprained it bad. It could be another six months or a year until it feels completely normal again, and even then it could be sprained again easily. You should treat your ankle every day to get it back to normal. Massage it and rotate it so you can train it back again. If you're going to be active, you should always tightly wrap it with a bandage until it's better.

Anyway. Hello, and welcome to this happy place. Just by reading this, I've fallen completely in love with you. I also love those comics you listed... as you might tell by my avatar xp

Hii.

You have a wide range of interests. And I love Jhonen Vasquez, his creations are of the kind I wouldn't mind indulging in the rest of my life. I especially love Invader Zim, and his retarded little robot GIR.

Yeah, people generally watch out for you if your hair is colored differently. My mom won't even let me dye my hair electric blue, and I'm what, turning 20 this year! I'm in college for Christ's sake! I should be allowed to make my own decisions!

And about the ankle, I was once playing soccer when I fell on my foot. I twisted my ankle and I had to walk with a cane for a couple weeks. I had it wrapped up for a few days, and I walked with a limp for a month. The pain stayed for about 2-3 months and I couldn't jump without feeling a sharp stab in my ankle until about 5 months.

Anyone who has read Oscar Wilde's ONLY novel is, well, alright by me.

Well, not ANYONE, but.. most people that actually take the time to pick that up are pretty decent.

You are so interesting that I forgive you for misspelling Dorian Gray.
Perhaps you are a polymath!

Welcome. You will make a fine addition to the forums.

Depends on the severity of the sprain. It took me 6 months or so for one of my ankles to heal. I suggest wearing a tensor and apply a cold pack. Try not to walk around too much. It's difficult to heal torn tissue if you're constantly walking around.

Is it bad if you watch yellow submarine and react in a way you would if you were on drugs even if you have never been on any drugs in your entire life.

Well, you got my attention. Welcome.

And why is it when you do a dance over ribbons with sparkles on them everyone goes 'Back away from the crazy person...' ?

I bet they'd be happy if they had sparkly ribbons too.

People are just afraid of people who are differant from them. Also it depends on what kind of dance you do over them. Frankly I'm suprised that whenever somone dances to hip hop people don't react badly.

Should I be worried by that? (Cos I am a little...)

And everyone is different so they should get over it and go buy some pretty socks.
However I don't think most people agree with my rather shiny way of thinking.

Actually, I'm out of high school! I just decided to take a year off before I enter college. But thank you for you compliments. Unfortunately my writing style is far more eloquent than the way I talk.

I don't intend to practice the use of illegal substances either. I've also heard that if you get intoxicated and watch Fantasia, you kind of get the same effect. Then again when they re-released this film in the 70s, let's just say Disney marketed its posters with 'stoner' styled art.

Here's another thing about me... I'm a Disney geek.

I'm flattered! It also just so happens that two weeks ago I went to an 80s dance club called "A Clockwork Orange". Mind you, I know it's named after the novel/film but every time I seen your user name on these boards, I can't help but remember the man who decided to gyrate his hips against me while I was dancing. It was unpleasant but I was amused.

I did? Damn. But thank you for not immediately jumping at my throat.

A sincere gratitude to all of you who answered my ankle question. It's been driving me mad for a while now and as many resources I've searched about this issue, I wanted some personal accounts on this topic. I appreciate your advice.

You're a lovely bunch. I feel welcomed.

Even better! I've never been able to grow out of that myself. I love Disney's renaissance streak through the nineties, but lately the really old 30's cartoons are growing on me. Could be because I'm doing a report on it though...

Oh, and my name isn't actually derived from A Clockwork Orange... as great as it is. I get that all the time though. I've just got an eye for steampunk imagery is all.

Maybe I'll just change my name to "Smokestack" or something to avoid the confusion...
