Well, I've always been a punk to the core. I'd recommend Misery and the Misfits for punk. But if you're not into that then I'd recommend Coal Chamber (Get their first album) or Stormtroopers of Death (Get Speak English or Die) for metal. They're not the most gothic bands but you should like them.

I have a strange habbit of putting things in a very rough, chopped up chronoloigcal order. Otherwise, yeah they'd be there. Hahaha. Also you should get Cinema's "Quatorze Examples..." Though I love thier first album, I think "Quatorze Examples..." is my favorite.

Check out "Filosofem" and "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss", some of the most beautifully arranged music ever. Distorted, dark, heavy, and atmospheric, I love Burzum and you will too.
