CAn you do the lotus hands? I can never figure out how to do them.

YouTube is your friend for styles. Lot of good performances out there! Check out Rachel Brice and the Indigo. I would say check Bal Anat, but video of Bal Anat is rare and usually taken down immediately upon notice by Suhalia. Ansuya is also a doll.
Lotus hands are hell, but yeah, I can do them. Simply speaking- your wrists remain in constnt contact, your arms do not move. your wrist contact will always mirror- back to back, right side to right side, front to front, left side to left side... for one full revolution around each other. Go slow until you do no tmove your arms with the wrist effort.

Small time pro or well paid amateur. Gray area in between. I do it on the side and teach basic classes, but I a student also (and will be until I die). I ahave been dancing for five years- but it takes about five years to get the basics nailed solidly.

If you are shy, I'd say check out Fat Chance Belly Dance's, Suhalia's and Jillina's DVDs for basic moves and get comfortable with them. Also check the net for teachers in your area, the YMCA usually has a class or two which is a great ice breaker course

Most of my make-up loses it's touch about half-way through the day. But I'm always at school and never have time to re-apply it. But you look as if you've been dancing and having a really great time and your make-up is still wonderful. ^^

Thanks, Miss Cogs.

You didn't quite specify who, Rae, so I will say that the pics were from the Thrill Kill Kult show I went to and roadied for. In the first couple of pics, that was Tara "Dark Echo" Hirsekorn. In the second postings, it was Pepper from TKK. DE is good at making really interesting hairfalls.

I like to look at body parts individually. And I like your nose. My boyfriend has a great nose, too. It's a little on the big side, perfectly straight, and gives him a really serious profile.

This reply reminds me of May. Have you ever seen that movie?

Sally Forth Brave Comrade!
As the title obscurely suggests, I went for a long walk today. I took pictures, and here they are (With descriptions and info so you know what I am babbling about)
I went for a walk through the woods, up to a local beautyspot called Wychbury hill. Now....usually it is no problem getting out onto the hill, you just climb over the stile and there you are. NOT TODAY. Oh no. Clever farmer ...whoever, decided to park his 15 or so cows in the field ( which I am not entirely sure he is allowed to do since it is a public right of way ). Cows , not always known for their sense of genius, thought it would be a great idea to stand in a gaggle RIGHT NEXT TO THE STILE.
Well done. I like cows, but they have been known to turn on people and I wasn't in the mood to get trampled.
Some of these cows have horns....GREAT.
They also look demonic when caught in a camera flash...NICE.
I hurdled the gate a little further up the path . It was next to a cow, but it was lying down and I figured that if the bugger wanted to have a go, it would have to get up first, which takes a bit of time at that size. I figured I would have a decent headstart to leg it, if the beast became enraged at the sight of my fat ass clambering over the gate..
Here is Wychbury OBELISK! It was constructed by Lord Lyttleton back in 1758, along with a greek temple of Theseus ( just to show off his wealth basically , it was a fashionable thing to do at the time ) They are known as " follies " in other words, copies of ancient structures .
This is the graffiti on the obelisk, which has been there for years and years. Basically in the 1940's, the body of a woman was found in a tree in the woods, MINUS her head. The head was stuffed behind a brick in the obelisk itself. The tree she was found in is a " wych elm " , and is still there today. She was believed to have been a german spy, I don't know if Bella was her real name, but that is what she has been called since it happened.
The temple of Theseus. Also heavily graffitied inside, it was fully fenced off in the mid- late 90's because the roof is falling in.
Suggestive graffiti...I found it amusing ^^
And just to prove I survived the return journey back past the cows ( that one was still lying down, so I made a bid for freedom ) here I am squinting from exertion and evil sunlight

A photo of my mother and I minus the fake hair and crazy makeup. This is how I typically present myself during working hours.
