Getting Haircut

Right now my hair goes a little passed my nose if I pull it down. My school wants me to cut it, and my friends said I look better with short hair. Im thinking about cutting the sides and the back, and keeping the top long. Ill probably put the top in a ponytail. What do you guys think? Should I do it?

Go for it! That's what I did, it's called a frullet (sounds like "mullet"), also called Devil's Locks. My barber used number 3 shears on the sides, left the top untouched (it goes past my nose too) but left the back long.

It's your hair. It's your decision. No need to let other people attempt to influence you about how to wear it. Alot of people have a psychological complex and neuroses about long hair. They perceive nagging you about it as a way to attempt to have control over you. It's Your hair. Do what you want with it. And of course, that includes following their suggestions.

That actually is a sarcastic "pop-internet-LOLz" term. The way it is referred to by those of us who are enthusiasts of mixed-length-longhair styles is "reverse mullet" or "reverse-vokuhila".

A friend who is a hairstylist had another name for it, but I can't remember it right now.

Isnt a devils lock where only a little part in the front is long and the rest is short? Im talking about the whole top being long and the rest shaved. Im not sure if I should do it.
