I am me

I dunno what to say besides hi. my vitals are abnormal. i am at slightly higher risk of breast cancer than the average man of twenty-nine, because I smoke seven packs of Chesterfields an hour and I have sexually transmitted diseases, neither of which is true, but sounds more interesting than nothing.

Hi.

Answer these, if you will.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)

2. Where are you from?

3. Who is your favorite author?

4. What are your favorite films?

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

6. At your funeral?

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

8. What kind of casket would you want?

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

11. What's your favorite band?

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

13. Why did you join?

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)

For money I work at a gas station. For fun I write lots of poems, fiction.

2. Where are you from?

Buffalo NY

3. Who is your favorite author?

Jorge Luis Borges, William Blake. I read ancient mythology and psychoanalysis.

4. What are your favorite films?

Videodrome, Seven, The Exorcist, Oz (the TV show), American Gothic, Joan of Arcadia, Happiness, Eraserhead (really David Lynch is my Jesus).

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

Bif Naked's Lucky Ones

6. At your funeral?

New Jerusalem (by Carly Simon)

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

Just like Jesus Christ

8. What kind of casket would you want?

No casket. Bare dirt, worms and the whole rotting deal. I want to be recycled through Nature.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

I have this plaid skirt that barely covers my naughty parts, and I usually wear it with a powerpuff girls t-shirt and a green fedora. Red eyeliner almost exclusively.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

Peeing wherever I please.

11. What's your favorite band?

The Cure

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

I have two bachelors of arts, one in Classics, the other in English. Within classics I focused on language and mythology. Within English I focused on psychoanalysis, deconstruction, and the Romantics.

13. Why did you join?

- Curiosity
- This is after all a literary community
- Because I want to teach creative writing at the college level
- Because I might be able to help those whose hearts are truly in literary engineering to get better at the things they want to do, and because the act of trying will help me get better at helping others.
- Because deep down, I am truly goth. I love apocalypses, and psychological horror, and worst case scenarios, and the idea of death as a lover. You can take the goth out of the black, but you can't take the black out of the goth.

4. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

I'm a lesbian trapped in a straight man's body.

That would make an interesting funeral. "OK, and now a moment of silence as we fling the decaying corpse into the hole in the ground."

Wow. You took the words right out of my mouth, then typed them. Although I've been called a goth a number of times, few people instantly assume I have any such tendencies. I suppose I often project a kind spirit, whereas a few layers down, I'm sitting with a gleam in my eyes in a graveyard somewhere.

Or, something like that.

I'm such a man lesbian, as well.

Interesting. I'm a straight man trapped in a lesbian's body.
There are actually African tribes that bury their deceased on the outskirts of their villages, and wait for the flesh to rot off, then exhume the corpse and stick it in their house. The belief is that the act of rotting in this world, mirrors a process of spiritual transformation in the next... that rotting makes the body into spirit.
