My first anime was Astro Boy...it still holds a special place in my heart.
But my top five Anime/Manga at the moment are:
Hellsing
Cowboy Beebop (even though I haven't seen much)
Negima!
Rockman.exe (DON'T LAUGH!)
Spirited Away (I know it's an anime movie)

giant robots are AWASOME!!, sometimes when im alone i kinda imagine my self piloting one and stumping on people while jogging
my love for robots is quite geeky really....

I'm gonna be a non-conformist and not like FMA or Bleach or Natruto. *flips hair* Seriously, I just don't find them interesting in any way.
Most of my favorites come from Toonami, during my adolescence.
Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, Rurouni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo, Ronin Warriors, Last Exile, Trigun...
I also love Shin Chan. The English dub is VERY different from the Japanese one, but it's so friggin' funny!

Dude, you need to make an introduction thread.
I love Spirited Away too. I had avoided it for a while because I thought it was being marketed as another crappy MGM kids' cartoon, but when I caught a glimpse of it on Cartoon Network, I was hooked.

You should definitely check out some of the other Studio Ghibli films. There was a season of them on a film channel over here. They showed the english dubs for one week, then the japanese. I missed the japanese ones though...
They played Porco Rosso, Laputa: Castle In The Sky, My Neighbour Totoro, The Castle Of Cagliastro, Nausicca: Valley Of The Winds & Kiki's Delivery Service.
Howl's Moving Castle was amazing & there was one about cats that was brilliant, but I can't remember the name of it. The films are quite long, but they're worth the watch.

Well if you plan on staying & posting here you'd better make an introduction. I'd say it's rather rude if you don't.
Anyways I've just started watching Mermaid's Forest. It's by the same person who did Ranma 1/2. Though it's a horror & the mermaids in it are bloody scary.
Also, the name of that other film was 'The Cat Returns'.

Akira -- Ghost in The Shell, a series called La Blue Girl...
Oh yeah -- and Vampire Hunter D
There was also one about a assassin who cried before he would kill someone, but I can't recall the name...

Elfen Lied.
Elfen Lied was godly to me. Oh how I love Lucy! She'd rip people apart with her vectors and not even cringe... it's a shame they didn't make a second season, considering the ending of the anime left a mile-wide gap for a whole new story to be added. Then again, the ending left you hanging on the edge of your seat; you never found out (though I'm pretty sure it was) if it was Lucy standing on the other side of the Kaede Inn gate. And since that clock she fixed went off, well, I assume it's her.
But yes, anyway, Elfen Lied is my favorite anime--hands down.
La Portrait de Petit Cossette was good too, though.
Oh my, I really need to stop watching so much anime....

My personal favorite is Noir but I realize it's not exactly a phenomenal show and many other people won't like it. I also like Serial Experiments Lain, Armitage III, Vampire Princess Miyu, there are tons.

Recently (FINALLY!!!) got into Gungrave. That show is almost as cool as Cowboy Bebop. Also, Street Fighter II V & the motion picture, and Fatal Fury.

If you're ever in need of recommendations, I'd be glad to give you a few good anime titles. As you can see in my title, I'm G.net's resident Aninerd... I've seen so many animes that it's just laughable. I have too much time on my hands.

As do I. Shoot! Meaning, "Give me any information you desire", in layman's terms.
