It is the rant thread dear.
And I know that feeling. My boyfriend got grounded from his phone and I flipped because I couldn't get ahold of him. He was upset too the next day when he told me.

People can rant here all they want. Maybe Ophelia is ranting about Bela's rant?

I wasn't even ranting, I was trying to help, because I get the same way she was getting.

I know I can overreact sometimes, but you could have come across as a bit more understanding. I was only venting, and I was worried as hell..
But.. before this erupts in conflict, let's all be chummy. It's no biggie.
An another note, my tummy hurts..

I'm sorry about your tummy, you should chew on some ginger root
Sometimes I hate my roommate. I understand that you should give people some slack if they are sick and don't take care of all the cleaning that they are supposed to do. So the kitchen could use a bit of cleaning. Whatever she is sick and didn't get round to it. Fine. The problem is that if you are to sick to clean the you are too GOD DAMN SICK to go to GOD DAMN HAPPY HOUR!!!
How can you walk in the door after coming back from a bar and use being too sick as an excuse for not getting shit done? *Grrr*

Kay.
Rant time.
So, lately I have been having a lot of problems with my parents. It's just your average teenage drama, but that doesn't effect me any less than normal.
First.
They have a rabid hatred of my girlfriend. They would rather I date someone closer, in the sense that my current girlfriend is half-way across the country. For me, this isn't a problem. She is just as real as anyone else, and the feelings I have for her, are just that. Feelings. You can't say someone doesn't feel a certain way.
They've gone to the point of saying, that if I see her before I am out of the house, they will sue her parents for kidnapping. I am not sure if they can do that (Any lawyers want to comment on this), but just the raw fact that they would say, that they would do this, makes no sense to me.
Second.
They've been harping on me about my grades, and the lack of a job. What they fail to realize is, I am in college two years ahead of what I am supposed to be in. Between my girlfriend and college, I don't have TIME for a job. Literally, most of the hours of my day are eaten up by homework.
I've tried to make this clear. I've tried to make it clear that this is a drain in my life. What do they say? "You play games all the time." No, I don't. I play half an hour a day, at best. That half an hour is MY time.
Third.
They're beginning to lie. They said we wouldn't move out of the house we were in. Yet, almost a year ago, they forced me to move to an apartment, with no explanation of why. They said I could see my girlfriend in the summer; that story has changed. They said they would stop yelling at me: bullshit.
Fourth.
I miss my dad. Before this summer, my mom wouldn't say anything bad. Now she badmouths him at every chance she can get.
Fuck.
If it wasn't for the fact I couldn't go to college in Canada, I'd move up with him.
So you know what?
I hate my mother. I don't mean this in the teen-angst, "Woe is me", sense.
I mean it in the serious sense. She has been the single source of misery these past 8 to 7 years. While she took care of me the first half of my life, she left me in the second, and has continued to harass me.
I literally, hate her.

I dragged him with me to my therapist and he'll never admit it, but it helped a lot. He's going through a lot of personal shit. My audition is TOMORROW and I am so nervous!
Hope your back feels better soon! Spasm? That's not normal!

Ok, so long as it's helping that's a good thing. But be careful - just cause he's going though a bad time doesn't give him the right to treat you like his wetwipe.
And relax, you'll do fine with the audition! What is it - dancing, acting? My back's been giving me problems since I was in a car accident about four years ago. Nothing much to do about it, just see a physio every now and then.
Although right now I can't afford the physio so here's where my rant for the day picks up. A simple fucking backrub - is all I asked for. But obviously I'm not worth 15 minutes of the person's time whom I asked. Geez, come to think of it, he'd probably not even give me the time of day if I got down on my knees and begged him for it. And I have never hesitated to do him favours. Not that I expect him to do me any. I just thought that it would mean something, but clearly it doesn't.
Please, spare me the fucking lame excuse, really. Just say 'no'. Is that so damn hard? Instead you insult me deeply by your clear hesitance and deliberate searching for a reason. Don't think I didn't see it in your eyes.

Sigh. Men never totally get it, do they? Thanks for remembering, it is a dance audition. I have to have a 2 to 5 minute routine choreographed in my prefered style (international latin - cha cha) and they'll teach me a short routine in THEIR style that I have to master in an obscenely short amount of time.
Are you doing any sort of yoga or pilates? My mom ruptured a disk in her neck and that's what the doc recommended. It does relax the muscles and build strength to support the weakened area.

Perhaps I shouldn't have said all that. I'm in tears right now. The whole combination of my back hurting so much I can hardly breathe plus the extremely awkward situation I was in last night is all just too much.
Fuck, whatever.
I do a little yoga, the last physio I was at gave me some very good stretches and self-massaging activities and they do help a lot, but I can't reach all the spots and stretching doesn't really compare to geting the actual direct pressure on those knots. Sigh. I'll stop complaining now.
Your audition sounds easy-peasy! You know what will be expected of you and you seem to be well prepared. *Not supposed to say good luck, am I?*

Every time I use a public lab, it seems to attract loud, out-of-tune black men who insist of talking/rapping at just a loud enough volume to be highly intrusive.

*flatterymode ON*
That's because you're so pure and quiet so the world needs to balance it up with rapping.

Pure and quiet, kitten, suggests you've not spent nearly enough time on the receiving end of conversation with me.
I may speak quietly at times, but I am most certainly not easily described as 'pure'. Unless, of course, you mean my skin- which is a pure, creamy white born of a rerfusal to entertain the mere idea of sunlight.

God, I hate these friggin farewell functions.
Our senior manager has resigned and we're all 'heartily invited' (read *be there or else...*) to attend her farewell. Like anybody even liked her or anything.
Now I've got to go sit there and put up with the pretend like 'oh, we're going to miss you so much' and listen to all those fake 'how much you meant to the company'. What hypocracy (sp?).
Should I tell her 'yeah it's been real, good luck and good riddance'? I'm being just as fake as them by pretending that she meant something to me. Bitch.

It's raining cats and dogs here, and poor Meth has to go out in that crappy excuse of a weather and walk some kilometers. I'm NOT amused.
Next time I sign up for a meeting, I won't do it as bloody early. Gah, feh, psh... *muttergroanrant*
