My Own Stupidity

Today, while preparing to leave my house, I set my nice hardbound copy of The Name Of The Rose on the roof of my car while I brought the garbage cans back from the curb. I then proceeded to forget about the book and drive off, not realizing what I'd done until I reached my destination. When I returned home, I figured the most likely place for the book to have fallen off would be at the corner where I had to make a right turn. Sure enough, there it lay, blackened from the road, pages wrinkled and folded, sans its dust jacket. Fortunately all the pages, though wrinkled as an octogenarian and stained from the road, are there. None were torn out or blown away.

In short, I'm a dumbass.

That's the thing about being a dumbass, I find. It is extremely inconvenient.

I managed to dump a nice full plate of spaghetti on my bed, including on the pillows, which did not have their covers on because I was washing them.

In short, I'm a dumbass.

Lol. I have a story kind of similar to that. This one time my dad was taking me to school, and I guess he'd planned on eating breakfast in the car. Anyway, he is very absent minded and managed to leave his breakfast on the roof of the car. We ended up driving the whole way to school with his breakfast on top of the car. We had little luggage rails on the roof, so it didn't fall off during the entire drive to school.
I remember kids kept asking why there was a bowl on top of the car that morning...

Well, at least it wasn't something important, like a baby.

It's so amazing how so many people forget the fact that they left their baby on the roof of their car before they drive off.

Are you kidding me? I'd rather it have been a baby! Babies are expendable. There's a SHITLOAD of 'em. Too many, by far, if you ask me. This was a HARDCOVER BOOK!!!!! Something to be treasured! Baby. Pfft.

Your statement is almost as crazy as those people that say "3000 Miles To Graceland" wasn't the best movie ever. Almost.

Okay, babies are expendable, that I'll agree, but can you imagine the reputation you'd get for having a baby on the roof of your car? All those gossipy neighbors...

3000 Miles to Graceland is awesome, though.

That would be a lot of gossip. And I'm surprised to find someone else that has both seen 3000 and thinks it rocks.

What can I say? I love movies related to Elvis and Kurt Russel was great in that movie.

One thing though, WTF was up with the kid running up to him and kicking him in the shin? I never got that.

I've no idea. I pretty much ignored the parts with the kid and Courtney Cox. I focused more on the explosions, gunplay and sideburns.

I never saw it because it made no sense. Where was he driving from that it was 3000 miles? There's maybe three South American countries he could have been coming from I guess....but that didn't seem to be the case.
