Just had my hair cut
I've just had my hair cut because my mum forced me to (look of embarresment on my face)...and it got cut very VERY short...i'm sad now because every time I head bang it just doesn't feel...right...
I need some hugs and comferting along with a cup of free tea. I feel broken.

And THIS belongs in the whining thread!
I'm all for not taking the internet seriously, but we had rules, and the forum worked better because of them. I miss the rules. I miss the assholes!

I just got my military cut. I dont know how im gonna tell Smile.... i promised her i'd grow my hair out again. (keep in mind my hair used to go down to my shoulders, maybe a little lower). I feel like im letting her down all the time. Overall, i still want to enlist in the Corps. but i cant let myself because i love er too much and i dont wanna go another 10 monthes at a time without seeing her, not after im forced to wait so long now to be with her..... It is not that i fear death in Iraq, it is that i fear leaving her alone, if anyone can understand that.

Hmmm...
You my friend need to start investing in weaves and wigs. Ever heard of wefted hair extensions? You can have beautifully long hair AND short hair any time you wanted. Look into it. You can find wefts at Sally's or a hair salon and you can also find faux hair and the like at Sally's as well.
Also, wefts are VERY stong and will not let go so easily. Trust me, my cyber falls never came out when I went to the club and cyber falls are heavier than regular hair.

i would not wear a wig. I want to be proud of what i do, i just dont know how she'll react, and she is the only thing that scares me, not because i think she'll leave me, but because i feel im letting her down...

Better to be something with a knowing choice and pride, than to make a mistake and become something you may regret.
If you haven't joined the corps yet, I think in some way I can answer some questions for you being that I was a service member at one time.
Oh, about that high and tight you have right now, don't sweat it. When you go in, they'll laugh at you for thinking you did something right and then shave your head bald. You may as well enjoy your hair while you have it.
Also, no offense, but to be a Marine calls for something greater than a days worth of love. Not to sound like an evil bastard, but to save the lives of every American, would you be willing to let your love go or even die?
To be a Marine or a Sailor, a Soldier, or an Airman, your duty and service comes first. Had I known that before hand, I would have never joined. But I respect the ones who do serve.

I would never leave her, but that wouldn't stop me from leaving if my country called for me. If she couldn't take it, and she left me, i would understand though. To answer your question, i am not afraid to die. I've been through alot, and i know what it takes to be a Marine because i know so many of them and they, and myself put me through alot of stuff to shape me into the hardened rock of a Marine

Wait...have you actually been through the training and stuff or not? I mean, are you enlisted?

i am not enlisted, the training i went through was just a gathering of other highschool students that planned on a job in the Corps. We did all the same shit as you do in the Corps. got screamed it, told i was a useless piece of filth, the whole deal, but im not technically a soldier, i just got the mindset of one and the training of one. Kinda cool, but im sure it was different then the actual experience. I still wish i could go, but i guess everyone gives up things they want at some point in their lives dont they...?

So wait...who trained you, and how long was it?
I'm not trying to be a bitch here...but...I honestly find it offensive that you'd say you went through what Marines go through...when you haven't. That just doesn't sit right with me.

Nothing can prep you for what you'd face. Not being afraid to DIE is not the mindset of a soldier. I'm not afraid to die. But I am no longer a sailor and I'd hate to think I'd have to do anymore of it. Also, no. Sorry, you're NOT a marine. Not even close. Shit, I was in the service and I'd never say I was equal to a Marine.
But if it IRKS you that much and you want to be in the corps, then join the reserves. YES, you will go to Iraq and be gone for possibly 18 months. But you will also be a civilian who will only really have to train once a month. Join the corps, but know that who you are now, wont be who you are after the fact. Your priorities WILL change and she will more than likely take a back seat. I've seen it happen all the time.

If I get extensions, will I be able to feel the waveyness of my hair while it's being swung around violently.

I hear ya. It's supposed to be fun and not boot camp, sure, but a certain level of respect for things like spelling and proper thread placement makes it more so. I'm all for a certain level of nazism, provided those who want to try take criticism on board instead of griping about fascist cunts and what the hell are they supposed to do about it.
Not you Metabolik, you seem like a nice kid. Just a comment on site management in general. A level of asshole-itude is useful and necessary if it keeps out bigger assholes.

dont make the mistake of assuming that I am like every other hot headed teenager that leaves highschool for the Corps. I took beatings for her, as well as other things i believe in, and nothing any DI could say will change me on the inside. Being raised by a bunch of military oriented people changes your feelings on life, and if you dont believe me, then were done talking here. And to answer the other persons question, it was 10 weeks of training, 3 weeks shorter then the Corps. goes through.

That's all well and good...but going around saying you know what it's like to be a Marine is spitting in the face of real military men and women...you just don't know.
You don't have to worry that you're going to get shipped somewhere to die.
A person in the military has to think about that every single day.

I didn't mistake you for that. In fact, I think you have a somewhat level head on your shoulders. Tell ya what. Go ahead and join. Be a marine in the reserves, if you love her so much. I hope it works out peachy for ya, devil dog.

I'd love it if my significant other joined the military. It's silly to be so selfish and want her here all for myself, rather than have her off defending this great country from insurgents and the terrorist threat.
Yeah. Sounds glorious.

Yeah, sorry. That was just a very agressive way of me to be about agreeing with you right back. My bad. The connotation was not clear. It wasn't meant as a mean way of saying it. Still buds?

I know what that is like, my parents did the same in June to me. This time though, I want my bangs to get longer with the rest of my hair.
