Silent Hill...
What a brilliant series in my opinion. I was just wondering if there were other Silent Hill fans on this forum.
My favorite two had to be the first game and Silent Hill 3.
Oh, Alessa, you're just so damn cuddly.

Very much in love with Silent Hill. Though I have to admit I've only played and beaten 4. It's hard to find the other ones around here.
Don't you love how Silent Hill doesn't even try to be serious. Sexy music during a serious moment anyone? How about a dog controling what was happening the whole time. Or those pink bunnies. XD
Yes. There is someone on here who loves Silent Hill and more. o.O

I like you even more now, Miss Cogs. xDD
Lmfao, sexy music. It's so true, too! I remember one part in Silent Hill 2 when James was talking to Maria, this... creepy jazz theme (like something you'd hear in a damn porno) was droning in the background. It made the character's conversation very awkward to say the least. xD
So many sexual inuendos in Silent Hill 2, lol.
But yeah, you can actually get Silent Hill 2-4 from Konami's website. They're only twenty or so dollars nowadays, and they have them for both PC and the PS2.
The original Silent Hill, however, good luck finding that! xD I had to put out fifty bucks for the game and order it off the net, because it's considered a collectors item now. But man, was it worth it! For a PS1 game the graphics aren't half bad, and the story's pretty good. The voice acting, though... well, that's never good in Silent Hill games. They always sound so wooden, like they're reading from cue cards.

I watched someone play most of the Silent Hill game, the first one, on Youtube. I loved watching it. Even had it on fullview. XD
Gotta thank Silent Hill for those awkward conversations.
HEH! Henery..." What the hell..." He's main line in the entire 4th one. That's all he would say really. He had no personality. But you still gotta love him.
Thank you for telling me, now I'm going to get the second one and the third and then a new playstation. Because the 4th one has a hard time playing sutscenes. ><

Lmao. I got my Silent Hill 3 from the black-cats gaming torrent site! I'm so cheap....
Yeah, Henry was a very, very bland character. xD He kind of reminded me of Dr. William Birkin from Resident Evil 2. He had the scruffy hair and face, and looked all doped up on caffeine pills like he hadn't slept for days.
And no problem, glad I could help point you in the right direction. =)

Mmm, quite interesting games, those. Those are about the only types of media that'll scare me anymore - perhaps I've been too desensitized, but horror movies just don't do it. It's different if you're BEING a part of the story, if you determine the outcome and all the twisted nightmare fiends are coming for YOU. Adds a whole edge to horror ^^
It's kind of inspiring, actually. I'm making it a personal goal to make a horror genre video game that surpasses Silent Hill 2.

Of course he didn't sleep....he was too busy wacking dogs with a pipe and spying on his neighbor. XD

And day I'm sure it'll be very big, Clockwork. I wonder what you would call.
How about, " The Horror Game That Surpasses Silent Hill 2 " Quite original I think.

Might be a bit hard to top Silent Hill, but I'm sure you could do it! =) I'd definitely play it. I'm such a survival horror junkie, that it's not even funny.
Another thing I liked about Silent Hill was the creativity of the monsters. They were all different and weird looking, but it was in a good way. xD Especially the Abstract Daddy, the monster Angela saw--that one freaked me out a bit.
Oh yeah, and the whole "Pyramid-Head-Screwing-Mannequin" thing.
Funny, actually--the guy who's behind the monster design, my friend Charlie told me he was literally schizophrenic and suffered from severe paranoia. I guess we all know how he comes up with the monsters now... he probably sits in the dark and imagines hearing and seeing things, then writes/draws them down. xD

So, so true... don't forget, he was also dodging a crazy-ass-chainsaw-toting serial killer, who was also a ghost or something. Weird how Walter developed powers like Alessa Gillespie.
Yeah, now I can see why poor Henry doped himself up on caffeine pills. xD

Interesting, but I thought the monsters were based off of metaphor? For example, the abstract daddy representing his guilt for killing Mary...
Hm, regardless, it has a unique and stylized looks, and even inspired a monster to haunt me in a nightmare once x_x

Aww, I love the moster creator guy. Doesn't " Abstract Daddy " look like he's glued to a door or something.
One thing I also loved about the monsters was that they had a very deep background to go with them.

They do have metaphors. Every single monster.

Yeah, the monsters are all based off of metaphors pertaining to that characters perception of their "Silent Hill reality." Like, for example, James saw Pyramid Head as he did because of the pictures he'd seen of the old Order executioners.
And the Abstract Daddy wasn't a monster created by James' mind I think. I believe it was the manifestation of Angela Orosco's fear of her father. But I could be wrong.
But yeah, I was talking about how the guy "brought to life" those metaphors. He made them look so twisted--it was great. xD

Yeah, the Abstract Daddy kinda looked like a fleshy dinner table. xDD
And yeah, I love how they gave each of the monsters a distinct meaning/background.

Nope, your right. The Daddy moster was created by Angela.

Thought so! Since Angela's father molested her, it only seemed to fit.
I still can't get over Eddie's "Silent Hill Reality." Apparently all he saw was people laughing at him. Psh, I get it all the time and you don't see me shooting dogs and some guy in the knee (a bit of Eddie's background, if you didn't know). xD

Of course I knew. Though I haven't played the games, I still look around on the internet. ^^
Prehaps Eddie, was a little more insane then you are and that is why he did what he did.

Undoubtedly Eddie was one of the craziest Silent Hill characters. xD
Dahlia Gillespie was pretty bad, too, though. Her one line: "IT WAS FORETOLD BY GYROMANCY," still makes me laugh my ass off even to this day. She says it so dramatically. xD

I really like her character in the movie. Just the way she looked. She was pretty even though she was unkept and insane looking.

I kind of found her movie version amusing. She was good and everything, but it was funny how she looked NOTHING like the Dahlia from the game. xD
In Silent Hill, Dahlia looked like a leathery-skinned skeleton. She had a lank jaw and these wild eyes, and she sounded kind of like "Mom" from Futurama. Lmfao.

Oh, I know. Hah! So wore a tie for absolutly no reason as well. o.O Silent Hill selling drugs....oooo....that might be why Alessa was halluctionating those monsters. Actaully, I bet that's what happened. Everyone was on drugs. There was no monsters or anything. Just a bunch of people running from nothing and that guy shooting at air with his hands.

Basically that's what happened. They kept Alessa in a constant state of torment so they could lure Cheryl to them. They gave her hallucinogenic drugs too, which is probably where the monsters came from.
In short, everybody in Silent Hill is a drug addict. xD

Gahaha! Yep. I want to see a version of the game where it shows the town in a veiw of a sober person. It would be so funny seeing some pixelated guy trying to shoot something with nothing in his hand and on the ground wimpering because he thinks he got bit from a dog.

Lmfao... or they should get some guy whose tripping on Acid to go into Silent Hill. Everything would be rainbow. xD
