Doubts and Restraints
Implored in subtle seems of nothingness,
Behold, and evermore the wayward in telling, winded tolls
Between indellible human eyes and the ire's near chagrin
And evermore the farther in straits of foreboding kin
Submergent in layered tidings spoken unto saccarinistic mouth
Amidst haplessness spoken in dread spaces of
consequential doubt.

Here's a little poem I wrote not too long back ...
The Other Side of Twilight
at the other side of twilight
… where moths mimic butterflies and ruined colonnades boast the canards of progress …
cobwebs are not gossamer.
and neither are the neat rows of powder in your daughter’s half bathroom where she sits feigning the luster of Goth, without discerning the meaning of the charade.
there is only just the brazen fullness of the Moon whistling somber gray truth to distant trees dancing desperate in the cloak of darkness.
trees or people, there is no difference in that song.
it’s not beauty.
it’s a wasteland.
but it is what’s real, rejected by the dying of that light
where that maiden, industry, snickers surreptitiously as stocks soar in lieu of rustic ballads toward the indifferent stars.
she’s betrayed Eden ever since the days of the Somme.
those aren’t God’s stars there, but winking voyeurs as insatiable as we.
and so, like morlocks united, we others grip hands retreating into half light where things promise to make sense.
meanwhile, brazen elephants and mules squabble on television screens asserting the false truth that …
twilight is for cowards, unless gift wrapped in a Flag.

stepping and circling
blind hands stumbles in search of an intangible door
this labyrinth with be my doom
solitary by default
even the voice within me has fled
unable to cope with new sensations
how does one confront the content?
let her bury the bones of his deceit
she will continue her twirling spirit dance
until, dizzy, she pitches sideways
falling with eyes wide open into the rabbit hole
the mystery is solved as the cosmos descends
frozen ground melted by burning stars

A Duty
Between unending paths in marring cliches
By the by in newfound steps of maturing, brazen days
And further the aghast in waywardness betroved by volumes
of pitch fury
Locked in effervesce progressing amidst dreading stages of
dread, imploring duty.

flutter along baggage in hand
escape the freezing hurricane
I create an atmosphere
you are incompatable with
pack your belongings
flee this terror zone
feel free to bail out at any time
my muse, my hand, my invisible goddess
I grovel at the intangible toes of your brilliance
surely you have some purpose here with me

Pestilence
Under siege
and without defense
the Earth reels
from the ants pretense.
Although they die
they hunger still
they suck it dry
to get their fill.
Angry swarm
multiplied
they wreck and harm
as they cried.
Earth's children swim
crawl and fly
but you can't flee them
no where to hide.
Soon in space they'll be
orbits escaped
will galaxies flee
Before it's too late?

Humane, you write beautifully.
Here's few fragments that spouted from my pencil during geography and english yesterday.
I've spent so much time trying to grow up
I forgot to be a child
Make me see the beauty of youth once again
Do we all not wish to be naive?
Where have all the children gone?
Too cynical too soon
______
Dry tears
brilliant abnormality
feed me the wastes of my own destruction
______
I attempt to bisect
one half wishes to conform
the other strives to shock
there can be no negotiation
______
Drunk on emotion
colors wheel by as mumbles inundate my depleting sanity
why must we have that which we hate?
Is it hate?
I love the beast that kills me

This is a poem for my boyfriend. Yes, it is a love poem. Its not my greatest and its not finished.
I Love you with every stitch in my heart
that weaves in and out to keep the blood in
I love you with every drop of blood
that runs beneath my skin
i'll love you when the moon stops shining
leaving us to dance blindly at night
i'll love you when the sun dies away
and your image disappears from sight
Loving you is just like breathing
without it I could die
Loving you gives me my wings
without them I couldn't fly
i'll love you with every tear that I shed
I can still see you through bleeding eyes
and that is enough reassurance for me
knowing that you'll be there after the blood dries
I'll love you even after you're gone
If somehow you were taken from me
I would cry more blood than my heart could bear
but I'll still say that we were meant to be
Loving you is my poisen
you make it okay to be ill
venom permanently stained on my lips
I'm sick, but there is nothing else I'd rather feel
I'll love you through the anger
that will surge through my veins
But the acid that I utter
is love that I cannot explain

Black_rose; I like it! Have you made an intro? If so, I apologize. Having a new member of the "poetry club" is always a lovely thing. Please keep writing; your boyfriend is a lucky man.

Whither weather
Fur Elise could never find peace
But swirled as the world unfurl'd
Whither, hither, weather and yon
Nine quarter-notes hurled at the world
Anne Bonney besotted another bride
and mast astride; Ride Bonney, Ride
Whither, hither, weather and yon
love under the other side of high tide

Random poem....
Smile, that's a sin
Laugh, but you can't cry
Smile, it's always broken
Bleed, but you can't die
Your funeral is your morning's wake
My tears are for my mourning's sake
You can fix, but life always breaks
a perfect world you cannot make
Your eyes are cold,
Your blood is ice
You can kill,
But you can't make nice

I'm a terrible poet, and the best I can attempt is mildly humerous hiakus. Here's one I wrote earlier, after a particularly painful experience. It is entitled Fluorescent Lighting.
The flickering bulb
A torture like no other
I wish I were dead.

(Not a proper poem, but...)
Home is here, and dazzling space
Between the rainclouds & wet-concrete sky
And the sins & small glories.
For the last time Autumn comes to Logan on the chilling storm.
O Winds blowing from from the starry crypts
Of my past! I ache and yearn
For what is past and gone.
O Winds blowing toward the still-cloudy
Still-to-come! And I ache and yearn
For what was past, and now is yet to be.
I am blown forth like a leaf into my fate
And walk the path proud as any devil.

marks mar my skin
for once they do not symbolize pain
there is joy to be found in the making of a bruise
ecstasy to be seen in blood pooling beneath the skin

Pressure Point
Brooding in prolonged intricacy
Through envelopment bestowing, nonetheless,
Imbibed and here fully growing at the prolonged
heat of new distress
Barring and yet immaculate, rise-you, in mounted findings of
finite finitude
Furling amidst marred nothingness through intrepid musings of
former servitude

Time passes silently
slowly creeping
like the villain of a silent movie
sneaking up on the unsuspecting innocence
her scream is silent too

conversation dwindles
he lies
tis only eight after noon
and he would not be ready for sleep yet
there is a task greater than love
love is not nearly as important as conquest
chase thy demons
but do not lie to thee
the truth hurts not as much as dishonesty in hindsight

I like this, but I would suggest knocking off "silently" from the first line altogether. It's implied more powerfully in line three and you get to lose an adverb.
I like the silent movie imagery, and for some reason I visualize it at a drive in theater ... makes no sense, but that's what comes to my mind. Cheers.

Thank you! I'm obsessed with old movies right now and it appears to be sneaking into my poetry. Looking at it again, I agree that "silently" isn't needed in line one.

I'm so not a poet. My thing's prose. But here's something for good measure. My poems are short, too. I can't do that epic length stuff.
Lifeless Roses
----------------
Lifeless roses still do grow
Where there is no life to you
There is life you’d never know
Makes a much brighter red, while dead
Than the piercing, sunset skies
Or blood in immortal veins that will never die
It is so much the brighter now that it is what it art
Has more love of itself than even love of another heart
Lifeless, these roses may be, but still
Can love itself more than at another’s will.

Immortality
Now rich and wise
with gold robes to wear
knowing: all dies
Old brings thought to bear
Old tests and tries
Hold Death! Wear and tear.
And so Old's reach
for the Fountain of Youth
trying Cream or Leech
when in fact the Truth
is New Life resides
when bringing about
young suckling, Mother's side
and child's laughing shout.

it is enough
to voice an opinion
can measely complaints
change the world
would it not be more effective
to charge into battle
the sound of trumpets
hearalding the arrival of the peace corps
ironic, is it not
that while non-violence is all
that can truly change the world
violence is all
that grabs us by the throat
forces us to pay attention
