Long black skirts are soooooo easy to make and make it the way you want, not some rip-off designer's way.

I totally agree. HT and another place called "Junkmans Daughter" (here in ATL) used to be a good place to buy gear. However, I don't see anything there any more.
I have found a new place called "Buckle" in the mall I'm starting to buy thing from. I also see a few goo shirts from online stores.
I'm just having a hard time finding something good for guys. Most of the sites I go to are tailored for women.

ummm... most fundamental rule of goth? Telling others they are not goth for whatever bullshit reason we can think of! Like my bands are sooo much more underground than yours are, my black is blacker, I sleep in a coffin thats cooler than yours.

You know what? a lot of you make goth seem so shallow. Honestly, YES MUSIC MATTERS, but by god stop trying to make it seem like a clique. It's starting to sound like sorority girls who don't accept the new girl because she doesn't have the right trendy clothes and make up.

But was this thread entirely wanted for? I've thought of most of these 'rules' as common sense, which isn't even worth spelling out because it's just saying the obvious. Or maybe I'm just tired of seeing these threads and shouldn't post in them.

Only I did want to say that my kudos go to Graveyard.Crow and LadyLucretia, because I like their views the most.

Well, to me goth is creepy music, too much eyeliner, aqua-net, plastic skulls and bats, and tons of other stuff that isn't exactly "deep." And the goth scene is notoriously cliquish so I'm not sure why you seem so surprised. A certain amount of "elitism" maintains a barrier of entry to the scene so that it doesn't get flooded with spooky kid types.

I saw Bring it On before Interview with a Vampire so shes just ruined in that role for me.

I took sewing class at school for 2 years, so I don't suck at it but my mom threw out the sewing machine a few months ago...and I can only handsew small things, I couldn't do a whole skirt yet

I may have been refering the long swishy skirts but i'm alittle ferevish right now and i can't really remember.
