Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Yngwie Malmsteen is #1 to me
but it's hard to have favorites..so, a few of mine are: Mark Tremonti, Michael Angelo Batio (at a clinic of his, he said he liked my hellraiser shirt..so automatically..he's one of my favorites..lol) And my guitar teacher swears that Michael Batio wears a wig or something because he says his hair never moves..and, i've watched him..it really doesn't move much..lol
Anyway, some more are John 5, Satriani, John Petrucci, and Steve Vai.

Yngwie J. Malmsteen or Zakk Wylde...Zakk Wylde doesn't just shred the same damn scale over and over again, he switches scales and modes a lot to keep things interesting. Joe Satriani, Eric Clapton, and Steve Vai are pretty amazing, just not something I listen to often. As far as dead, I think we've all been wanting to mention Dimebag...

Eric Clapton and Johnny Marr (The Smiths).
When you listen to Marr's guitar, it doesn't seem particularly complex, but when you try to play like him, you realize how much of a genius he is.
