Starting to have sick dreams...
I'm really afriad at the moment, I've started to have these sick and twisted dreams...of me killing the people I love. My Mum has this book about what things in your dreams mean and I looked up 'murder', I really don't want to hurt anyone. I'm so fucking stressed right now, but so is my friend Fred, so I stay with him most of the time, it's hard to keep cool in public and it's getting harder, I fear that some time soon I'm gonna crack. If anyone has any advice please please PLEASE do share with me.

I have two pieces of very strong advice:
1) Take that book and pitch it in a trash can.
2) Watch Army of Darkness or the Three Amigos or something.
Listen to Drake. He is wiiIIIIiiiiise.

Your life belongs to you. You're not going to hurt anybody if you decide not to. And your interpretation and understanding of your life also belong to you - not to some person you've never met who writes new age trash and passes it off as science.
Good luck.

I you actually have the urge to hurt someone, you could always play a really violent video game. Or crucify a Barbie doll. Or stick a firecracker in a Teletubby doll. Or just write a story about brutality.
Or something.

Personally, though, I think that you should just lay back and enjoy the dreams. I have sick dreams all the time. If you can't enjoy them, when they start to scare you, that's when they begin to control you.

I agree with this. I believe in dream interpretation, but dreams are very personal and what one dream symbol means to someone else may mean something totally different to you. Books of symbols can give you hints, but they don't have all of the answers.
For example, the entry for "killing" on dreammoods.com says:
"To dream that you killed someone, forewarns that heavy stress may cause you to lose your temper and self-control. Identity the characteristics of the person that you have killed and ask yourself if you feel any rage towards this person in your waking life. You may be expressing some rage or hatred toward this person."
Its entry on "murder" says:
"To dream that you have committed a murder, indicates that you are putting an end to an old habit and your former ways of thinking. This could also mean an end to an addiction. Alternatively, you may have some repressed aggression or rage at yourself or at others. Note also that dreams of murder occur frequently during periods of depression."
Do either of those apply to you? If not, then you just have to figure out what these dreams mean for yourself. Dreams are rarely to be taken literally and are generally the subconscious' way of symbolizing your emotions.

LOL! Crucify a Baribie doll. When I'm stressed I just sleep, but when I wake up I'm all drenched in sweat.
If I were you I'd start hanging around more often with that girl you were just talking about recently and talk with her more often. That should relieve some stress.

I wouldn't worry too much about them. I have dreams all the time of jumping or falling from a height, doesn't mean I'm going to go find the nearest 20 story structure and fling myself off of it. Just as long as you don't consider killing people while you're awake.

Well actually in response to the post above me, I have images in my head of violently killing people while I'm awake. I spend a lot of time thinking how i could kill someone giving their present surroundings. They are interesting thoughts. The problem begins when you stop thinking and start doing.

To go as far as to fantasize about killing people while conscious is truly disturbing, and to even contemplate a way to kill them by utilizing their surroundings is just too much! It might lead to bigger problems than simple thoughts... you may want to talk to someone about it.
And I wouldn't worry about your sick dreams. Dreams are just that, dreams. Most of the time they have no underlying meaning. They may have some vague significance sometimes, but most of the time they don't... they're just abstract images.
I wouldn't take it too seriously. Your dreams aren't your reality.

Personally I don't find that such a big of a deal. If you think about it, we're surrounded by violence practically all the time - media, reality - where-ever. It's only natural that violence will be on our minds. I catch myself doing the same thing at times - but as long as it stays with thinking and not doing, like Wormboy said.
Metabolik - dumb question but - you wouldn't perhaps be on Malaria medication like Larium or something similar right now? There's something in those pills that give you seriously bad dreams - I had to use meds a while ago and started dreaming about chopping peoples' limbs off and skinning them alive. I was afraid to go to sleep until someone pointed out to me to stop taking the pills. Or if it's not pills, you could try listening to classical chamber music before you go to bed, watch a funny movie - something like that.

I disagree. Several of my friends and I used to think up ways to do exactly that. It was a game for us. It was for shits and giggles. If we ever got violent, though, we never actually tried to kill anyone. We knew where the line was.
For the record, though, we also liked to think up horrible practical jokes. Like trying to figure out how to core out and apple without making it obvious, plugging up the hole, and then filling it up with cadaverene. (I think that's what it's called... a gas that smells like a rotting corpse.) That way, when someone takes a bite, they get blasted with the stench of wet rotting death.
Those were fun times.

You, my friend, should call a psychologist right about now. No, that's not meant as a "you're crazy!" statement, rather that when you're stressed and feel like you're going to "crack" then something IS wrong and you should talk about it to someone, preferably a professional. It will ease your stress and it will be worth it in the end. Also, if going to the right one, you probably get taught on how to keep cool in public with not much effort.
Regarding the dreams.. well, they're just dreams. Pay them no attention, but you should really consider what I said before about talking to someone.

I have dreams like that all the time, sometimes I wonder if i should write them down and make them into a book or something because my dreams are scarier than any movie I've seen or book I've read....

To be fair I would never truly hurt the people i think about, I just like the thoughts, they're interesting. But yeah bro, best thing you could do, get some buddies and talk about it, best therapy in the planet.

I'm glad you'd never hurt anyone! =)
I'm sorry if I came off a bit harsh in my earlier post.

Nah you just seemed frightened, which is fine. I'm not a violent person unless you make me VERY mad.

Ever tried telling someone about them? Cause at least in my experience, that always makes them seem less scary...
See, your own mind can think of things much scarier than any movie or book, but few have the talent to express it to others.

similar dreams/solution
I have had similar dreams to the ones you described.
It shook me up a bit too, but don't worry...and try this.
#1 Write out your dreams in a dream journal
#2 At the end of the week (start on Monday) burn the journal.
#3 think about how much you love those people and would never want to hurt them as it burns.
if the dreams continue seek counseling.

My dreams are scary as hell but they don't bother me much after
I've woken up, it's like I'm watching a really good horror movie marithon every night. I have learned to enjoy it.
