Trust me, a lot of people here don't even like Hot Topic. I don't, though I do have a few articles of clothing from there....
And if you don't mind my asking, why would somebody who shops at Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, and so forth, want with a Gothic forum?
Not that you're unwelcome here, but I just find it a bit strange.
If you plan to stay, though, make an introduction first and use proper grammar. Not to be bitchy or anything, but myself and many others can't stand abhorrent spelling.

Yep, yep. I've noticed people on this forum are more rabidly against newbies than any other forum I post on. I'm not complaining, mind you, but it's just an observation.
There's a shop downtown called Hydra I really like though I can't usually afford stuff I want from them. I just barely went for my first time yesterday and wanted to drool all over all the merchandise but I figured they might kick me out if I did so . . .
I'm a broke little college student so alas most of my clothes must be purchased from cheap chain stores like WalMart. I make do though.

What do you think would be most obvious? I'm referring to the OP.

By the way, this thread should be moved to the Fashion topic.
I don`t really have a favorite place to shop since I don`t. The best places to get good clothes are internet stores and DIY.

I shop in "regular" stores too.
Thanks.

You can afford things on there? I don't think I could... but then again, I never count money in Euros... but I do know that CDN$ are worth less than Euros.

In the topic of shopping anyway..
When I can AFFORD to, Hot Topic. It's pretty different up here in Canada, there are not NEARLY as many "different" clothing shops as there are in the states.
I also like the Slash and Burn website, they have some good clothing. I don't buy EVERYTHING at Hot Topic, but there are some good buys. Randy River, Zellers are other favorites of mine.
I don't care what anyone says, you can find good deals at department stores.
Canada used to have the IT store... which kicked ass. But it is long gone... *le sigh*

There's a Hot Topic in Canada? I've never seen one. The only gothic-type clothing store I've seen is Trivium.
I usually have to just drool over 150$ dresses in Trivium, and wish I could find a similar fabric in a fabric store. Also, Trivium has some pretty dumb clothes sometimes.
My favourite, favourite places to shop for clothes, though, are second-hand stores and fabric stores. The former type is cheap, and the latter type allows you more freedom with making/modifying clothes. And you can find some pretty damn cool stuff at second hand stores.
As for other shopping, I like Sugar Mountain, Bulk Barn, *thinks* what other stores do I frequent?
Sometimes Ardene and Claire's have some cool stuff. I found a leather collar with a fabulously brilliant-intense blue chain on it at Claire's, so I pulled the chain off (I wanted a PLAIN leather collar) and made the chain into a bracelet. Ardene has black flower hair clips, and some other cool things. I got a pair of zebra-striped slippers there. The bottoms started to wear off, so I duct-taped the holes up. Ardene constantly sells things for 1/2 off, 2 for 10$, 3 for 10$, etc. It can be difficult, though, when you've picked something that's 12$ regular priced, but is 3 for 10$, and there's nothing else that's 3 for 10$ that you want.

I've been to Hot Topic only once in my life... In Alaska. I bought a nice skirt, and the people working there were friendly. I probably wouldn't go back though, especially since Alaska is kind of far away.
My favourite places to shop, and this goes for absolutely anywhere in the world, are vintage/second-hand clothing stores (extra points if they sell vintage clothing dating back to Victorian/Edwardian times). Plus Necromance in Hollywood, you can never go wrong with Necromance.

I'm still under the whole parent control thing, which I hope that I will be out of considering I'm going to university next year. I usually get a lot of my stuff from a store called Stitches. I just put things together and it works out. :P
I do want to visit some of the stores in downtown Toronto since I hear that they have really cool clothing. I may have to check it out sometime...

Actually I live in Canada BC, and we do have gothic clothing stores. We honestly do, you just need to go downtown or metro.

That book blows. If you want something that goths enjoy, read A Clockwork Orange, The Portrait of Dorian Gray, and Wraeththu.
Trust me, goth or not, they're really enjoyable.
As for Hot Topic... it's not so much scary as it is a joke. But hey, they have Drop Dead Magazine in it.

You're in Ottawa? Me too. Other than Trivium, and to an extremely lesser extent Rock Junction, there is jack shit here.
