Ripped Jeans

As most of my dear friends here on Gnet know, I hate ripped clothes. But I fell. And ripped one of my beloved black jeans >_< So...what are some ways to cover up that rip (a tad above the knee, it is XD) other than simply sewing it. I can't do a zipper because I'd have to make an extra layer, but no room. These *are* bootleg jeans, so not very baggy.

I was thinking a patch of a skull or something but :P any other ideas? Hmm?

If you're completely against ripping them some more to make it look purposeful but don't want to completely cover the hole, I've taken a hand needle and sew wide loose stitches along the slit to make almost a "cage" look when your knee is bent. Otherwise a patch or even sewing some lace underneath so it's not completely torn open seems like your best bet.

I love my ripped jeans! I do the safety pin thing and in the winter when I know I will be outside alot I take pieces of fabric and pin then behind the rips so I don't freeze my ass off. Istill keep the original pins and it looks cool with the fabric behind it.

I don't like ripped jeans unless they're done in a cool way and by yourself. When people buy ripped jeans from shops, I always think that it's like buying a kettle with no handle or a cup with a big chip in it.

You don't have to make an extra layer to add a zip ( I do not understand what you mean by no room? ) just sew up the rip with strong thread, and to cover the stitching if you like, simply buy a length of black zip ( or take one from some other piece of unwanted clothing ) , cut it to size and stitch it over the top of where the rip was. You don't have to incorporate it into the rip itself, nor does the zip have to work.
