Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Er...
-goggles
-dreadfalls
-neon
-massive shiny boots
This is gonna cost you a pretty penny for a Halloween costume... the boots especially.

I'm just going cyber myself this year since I can't decide what to wear and I have all my other outfits that I have made over the years, so I might as well wear them. I still have my cyber outfits that I wore in other city clubs few years ago.
Pretty much going all black and neon green (except for the chrome buckles on my boots and my other gloves).
And my 4th set of contact lenses finally came in last week so I can throw out my old ones. I wore them last weekend and they more comfortable than my old ones since I switched to a new brand.
Oh Green.Lady, ya forgot the mask.

That's true, Cyber clothes are really neat. It gives a futuristic twist of the dark culture and the concepts are unlimited. I'd say about 1999 was when I saw some cyber-like styles popping around more, so then I began to make some outfits for myself and it's fun as hell to expand my creativity. Funny how the recent months Saddiction and Kontan got me making more cyberfalls for myself, therefore I just want to make more.
Darkprayer, you should try a bit of cyber as your new style or look, it's doesn't make you look like a mopey or depressing. Learn more from your friend Ellen, you might actually like it.

It's definately not cheap. I'd also go with plastic or foam falls, rather than dread falls. You can make a pair of foam falls with very little cost involved. Maybe $20 max if you know what you're doing.

Thank you very much for the advice. I'll ask her about it. She said herself that I should try cyber. Either way, I don't look mopey or depressed, I just look...me. But I don't know if cyber is my style.I look good in the clothes, great actually, but I prefer something darker. Not depressing, just more black, reds, and whites.

Do you have any photos of this "Ellen" person? I'm curious to see her style.

I HAVE pictures, but not on my computer. My camera isn't digital, so I can't post them on the computer. I wouldn't do it without her permission anyways, but here's something close to hers.

I think she has these exact goggles, or close to them anyways. She never wears gas masks, but wraps tinfoil around her arms a lot. Um...her hair is bright coloured.

So what exactly did she lend you for your oufit? I was my first question, which you neglected to answer.

I'm sorry. Okay. Goggles, colourful hair extensions, a tight top and tight pants (made out of rubber I think) and lots of flashy accessories. Boots, gloves, and a dog collar for my neck. It's literally a dog collar.

With a list like that, you don't really need any suggestions. If you want something new, you're going to have to fork over the cash for premade accessories, or DIY supplies. Either way, it's not really something in a 14 or 15yr old's budget. Believe me.
Also, I think tinfoil looks incredibly tacky. Don't use it. That's my suggestion.

This is the problem with cybergoth fashion - there is a fine line between "cool synthetic material" and "trash heap." I've seen people with stuff like phone cords in their hair and it just looks like they got tangled in their phone on the way out the door. I haven't seen tinfoil before...thankfully. But I can't imagine it being good.

I can't see it looking good regardless if it's in hair, or in DarkPrayer's friend's case, wrapped around body parts.
I agree in regards to that fine line you speak of.

She wraps it around her arms. Actually, it's pretty cool, but itchy and rips easily. ellen has a bit in her hair, but that's all.

At work we sell silver vinyl, which I think would have looked a whole lot better and LASTS longer than tinfoil.
"Tinfoil used in fashion" makes my teeth hurt.

Ellen's a brave girl. When I was 15, my mom harassed me to no end about a little bit of nail polish- if I'd started wrapping tinfoil around my arms I probably would have ended up on that show "Intervention", or in an institution.

i've seen ten too many cyber disasters, people squeezing into clothes they dont suit, hanging ou of clothes they dont suit, totally overdoing it with odd things in their hair, thinking the more in their hair the better ..oh and geez the make up.
Its just my opinion but i never understand how goth ..which to me is elegance and victorian etc became split into styles like ..cyber.
Im not a fan sorry, i just know one too many goths who call themselves ravers ..and dance around with glow sticks like twats!

Yeah, wearing tinfoil on any part of the body is really 'paranoid schizophrenic chic.' I LOOK KEWL AND THE ALIENS CAN'T READ MY MIND!!!!!!!!
Kids wearing tinfoil is why corporal punishment is sometimes justified.

Seriously? Wow, your Mom is strict. Yeah, Ellen is really brave and doesn't care what people think about her. Actually, Ellen's Mom USED to be goth. Not cyber, graveyard style.
