Matt...you've got to recognize that making music with a simulator doesn't invalidate the music.
It's just as hard, it not harder to make music on a computer than with real instruments. It takes just as much understanding of music and just as much skill.

I understand that that guy is more knowledgeable of music related things than I am, but this is an oppinion thread. I just can't stand how ridiculous his little "beep-beep, pound-pound" noises are. I just think that EBM (etc) is pretty hollow. I'm not saying that its a bastardization of sound and that nobody should listen to it, nor am I just trying to stir things up by saying I don't like what other people do in hopes that they'll get mad. I'm just saying that I have a passionate dislike for CombiChrist because the thread asked.

Generic pseudo-rock, anyone? Also, I can't stand much R&B (some actual rap is OK, but rhythm & blues nowadays is trash IMHO...) or country... Screeching and growling is fine IMO, as long as it is used effectively and does not constitute the majority of the song.
Specific Bands/People:
Blink-182, Breaking Benjamin, Sum 41, Creed, Linkin Park, Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, all the Fall Out Boy/Panic! at the Disco clones, "Fiddy" Cent, Eminem, Garth Brooks, Dixie Chicks, Black Eyed Peas (thank god they're gone), Fergie, Avril Lavigne, all that stuff.

UGH! tell me about it, I HATE Combichrist....if it plays in a club i'll just go to another floor and wait it out.
And to be honest, making good music on a laptop or on real instruments are both a challenge you can't downplay either, despite the fact you can buy keyboards where you just press one button and you've got an awesome melody for the rest of the song.

Exactly. I think what people need to realize is that the quality of music in NOT based on how difficult it is to make. Quality of music is also based on oppinion. I'm a fan of simplicity in certain music. Take for example "Moya" by the Southern Death Cult. It's simple as anything and its a favorite of mine. My favorite version of it has a drum line that only consists of a bass drum and a snare (not to mention simple guitar and basslines as well). I know people who find the Southern Death Cult to be nauseatingly boring, but does that mean that they're all terrible musicians? No. They just don't like the sound. The same goes for me and my dislike of EBM as well as CombiChrist and their clones. This does NOT mean that because I don't like them that I think they're musically retarded.

No, that's not how you make music on a computer. You don't just press one button. With a lot of programs, you have to carefully plan out each sound individually, and you don't have a real instrument to experiment with, it's gotta be in your head.

I think this is starting to become a bad game of, "Let's put words in each other's mouths."
I think we're all entitled to what we think sucks or not (I mean, look at the thread topic for goodness sakes) and although someone may deem a band you favor to be full of 'talentless hacks' doesn't necessarily mean they are without talent, I mean, I already can think of a couple of bands that I like that a lot of my friends dislike , but I don't get on my soap box and preach about how it's an acquired taste or something just as pretentious.
Opinions are opinions, and here is one of mine:
As for Combichrist, they're just another aggrotech band that managed to make it big, even though most of their music sounds exactly the same as the next aggrotech band (I hear their stage performance is what got them noticed, but I've never seen them live so I'm not too sure).
As for the band I absolutely despise, I'd have to go with ICP as well. All the mall goths here are juggalos/juggalettes now.

I agree with you sooo much. I hate their music, but if it weren't for the mindless fucktards what worship them we they would have just gone away by now.
I went to the mall and saw two grown men dressed up in ICP makeup. It was in fuckin' August! *sigh* It's like all ICP fans are brain dead.

I didn't say that I didn't respect Queen...not that I do. I hate that man's voice. It makes me want to hurt him, whoever he is. It's just irritating.
So, though I know I get strange looks whenever I say it, I hate Queen.
