Hello. I'm sure you'll find some interesting discussions on philosophy and theology on the boards, though you may not find so many discussions about your favourite bands.
Might I suggest you take a look at the music thread and see what you think of the bands we discuss there?

My school is uncool like that. We have shitty courses.
I want to learn Latin though, I might take it after university, or in university. :P
And what would that mean? The translation site was confusing. lol. Yes I am a bit retarded. :P

Hehe DL, welcome to the boards. Don't appologies for your music tastes, these music snobs hate popular bands ^_ ^.
If you actually want to hear HARDCORE music, as in the genre not the adjective, check out Hatebreed, Bleeding Through, Dead to Fall, and Comeback Kid for a more punky feel. If you like heavy music, I'd check out a group called Project 86 for their song Sincerely, Ichabod. If you just want more crazy music, check out Arch Enemy. If you want some really good slamming metal, check out famous thrash metal bands Anthrax and Slayer. PM me if you want any more recommendations kid. ^_^. Welcome to the boards.

No, we don't hate popular bands, we hate everything that moves.
If it doesn't move, it's dead. If it's dead, then it must be either a goth or a lamppost. Since we don't fancy talking to lampposts except when we are ridiculously drunk on absinth, the only alternative left is goths. Simple equation.
Oh, and welcome. Was that a twitch I saw?

God, that is awesome. That should be like... I don't know, plastered somewhere for all to read.
Anyways, welcome to the forums! I'll admit I like Linkin' Park as well (except their new album was a let down).
Since you are here, check out some of the Goth artist in the music forum like previously suggested. You'll find some great artist in there you might like.
You said 'ambient', though I didn't see any groups listed there that were ambient. If you do like actually ambeint, I'd suggest Dark Muse, Nox Arcana, Midnight Syndicate and Jon Hallur. Great racks to relax, take a nightime drive too, or sleep.
=)

Aww shit, here I go getting all pedantic again.
For the record, this is hardcore:

What you listen to looks to be mainstream rock and nu-metal.
Anyways, welcome to g-net.

Ah! Sorry, Jillian.... been spending so much time having dead philosophers blasted at me that the French ones are starting to merge....
which is ridiculous given that they had entirely different manners of approach and especially given that Descartes was considerably less interesting than Rousseau.

No sadly, there are thre genres, Punk - Hardcore Punk - Hardcore
The differences in hardcore punk and hardcore are a bit confounded at times but by no leap of the imagination are the Dead Kennedys hardcore. I love them, don't get me wrong, but they aren't. Bleeding Through and The Agony Scene would be metalcore. Hatebreed is hardcore, especially that song.
