Hello

1. What do you do?

I play guitar, write bad songs/poetry, sit around on the computer. Lately, I've had a strong urge to break out from the norm, and explore new things.
I work as a Courtesy Clerk, yes... that unfortunate person who puts your groceries into plastic bags at the grocery store.

2. Where are you from?

I'll avoid the stating the obvious, by stating that I was born in Twin Falls, Idaho.

3. Who is your favorite author?

Stephen King, I also find Edgar Allen Poe's work quite exquisite.

4. What are your favorite films?

Nightmare Before Christmas, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

I would say Love Song, or Just Like Heaven by The Cure.

6. At your funeral?

To be honest, Stairway to Heavan.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

Old age.

8. What kind of casket would you want?

I wouldn't really care, it's not like corpses brag about wether or not they have the bigger, better, more comfortable casket

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

Black band shirt, black pants, and black shoes.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

I miss being ignorant about how harsh the world really is.

11. What's your favorite band?

The Cure.

12. What kind of education do you have?

Basic high school education, just not as good. I'd like to major in Literature.

13. Why did you join?

To discover the Goth inside of me, and because I found this forum looking up information on the Goth Sub Culture.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

I'm a male

Wow! From all the intros I've read so far, yours is the first one where someone just wants to die of plain old age, as opposed to people saying stuff like swallowing broken glass and bleach and being tortured to death and whatnot.

You get a gold star! Welcome. If you want to discover the 'essence of goth', the music forum is a good place to start.

To avoid posting an overdone thread, how do I make my transition from my current lifestyle, to Goth lifestyle?

Avoid the sudden change from normal to deathly, why don't you try being yourself and take it slow.

Well, goth isn't a really a 'lifestyle', unless you consider hanging out with people who appreciate the same kind of music and style of dress as you do to be a 'lifestyle'.

Edit: I just realized that prior to this one, I had made exactly 300 posts to the G-net message boards. Spartaaaaa.

Welcome. We have the same favourite band.

There's not a real "goth lifestyle," but what are you trying to change? Is it mainly an appearance issue?

And Spartaaaaa indeed.

Goth is not a lifestyle, Goth is a taste in music and oftentimes darker and/or DIY fashion.

You're already a fan of The Cure, so you're off to a good start. Now check out bands like Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Sisters of Mercy, Christian Death, 45 Grave, Virgin Prunes, and Alien Sex Fiend.

Goth is a subculture, is that clear?
(I just got into it with some woman at wal-mart, trying to explain that)

Welcome, Dear.
The Cure rocks my new, fuzzy, purple socks. <3

To Viscus- That day in Wal-Mart, I was searching for a while for a Siouxsie and the Banshees cd, because I saw one of their old concerts on VH1, blew my mind. I couldn't find anything, but I found The Cure. Thanks for the syggestions

To Post Modern Girl, gothiccusmaximus , and Gothic Christian

Thanks for clearing some things up

To Green.Lady

Yeah, same favorite band, that's excellent! I don't know, see, I've never really felt comfortable the way I live, then I read some things on Goth, and something clicked. I don't know what I want, I just know... I don't know, I'll answer that question when I do know.

To Bella Blood

Thank you.

The goth lifestyle doesn't REALLY exist. Just be you and follow your curiosities.

Goth "typically" has a fascination with horror and the macabre. If you want to get into a more... "dark" lifestyle, try BDSM. It's an actual lifestyle that comes off rather "gothy" I guess.

But I would strongly consider you just follow your curiosities. Trust me, you'll find plenty of stuff on here that "go against the grain."

To say there is a goth lifestyle indicates that goths are all the same and that's just not true. The only thing that is true about goths is that they all generally hold the same interest in the same music.

I've met a couple of goths and you wouldn't be able to tell by just looking at their image or their actions.

I play a bronze series B.C. Rich guitar, though, I suppose I play pop punk. Thank you Storm.

Thank you Kontankarite, I suppose my ignorance is more than I thought it was.

Thank you Gothic Piano. Seriously, thank all of you for such a warm welcome, I feel extremely good being here with you good people.
