Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Actually, the dude behind Funker Hearse wrote an LJ post detailing how much Bauhaus sucked so you're not alone in the number, however small it is. Do Tones on Tail/Love and Rockets/Dali's Car/The Jazz Butcher make you bawl in the daytime too?

I actually like most of those bands some of you people listed. Sure, some of them are rather cliche, copied another band whose copied from another, cashing in on the popularity of certain genres. Still, it's all music. I personally wouldn't mind shoving Celine Dion off a cliff, while pushing most of those gangsta rappers with the cliche "Living it rough in the ghettos, downing the 40's, and bangin' dem hoes" I also want to kill off all those pop singer chicks, Gwen, Fergie, pussy cat dolls. Gather all boy bands into a building, and kill them all of with a bomb hidden in a brief case, like that dude in Village of the Damned did. Limp Bizket, and Korn, both for messing up classic songs LB for ruining Behing blue eyes, Korn for ruining Another brick in the wall. I'd go on, but, I should get some sleep. Good night, good people of Goth Net.

*pulls you out from the boulder studio condo you've been living under* They're basically side projects/spinoffs of the 'Haus.

They're all actually quite different from Bauhaus - for example, Tones on Tail is has a... um... groovy vibe to it. You should try them, you probably won't be disappointed.

I want H.I.M and The 69Eyes to fuck off and never bother my ears again.
Luckily I have had the pleasure of taking the piss out of Jyrki69 to his face, as I hung out once with them after a show.
Stood next to Ville Valo at a show and he made Ronnie James Dio look like a giant.
Man I fucking hate them with a passion...

I genuinely feel goosebumps with only a few Bauhaus songs, such as the inevitable Bela, and Silent Hedges, but kind of have this desire to be able to like the band better than I actually do.
I much prefer the subsequent works of guitarist, Daniel Ash. From his first post-Bauhaus band, the trippy and moody and vunderbar Tones on Tail, through the much broader and longer lived Love and Rockets, and his solo material, much of which is tough to find. If you don't like Bauhaus, don't write off these other projects. Daniel Ash has done vastly superior stuff in his own direction. Quite unique and underappreciated and marvelous. P.S. I wish I was Elvira's homework! :^)

dreamydancer. I see that you posted at 1:47. I have this really weird thing with the number 47 in general and with 147 in particular. And I am not alone. There is a Yahoogroup called The 47 Society. Kind of nutty.

I think you're going to be right at home here. The Jim Morrison-wannabe visual gimmick that is H.A.M. must be wiped from the face of this earth.

Am I the only one who dislikes Jesus and Mary Chain and Love and Rockets whom too many gothy people seem to like? They are the two new wave bands that I really hate. I don't like their styles and have yet to hear a good song from them. I am sure there are others (new wave groups) but I am finished for now.

Im not going to state any singer, or band, but a certain genre of music. Egyptian metal... (nile, etc.) I do not understand the concept of it, and I can not stand that kind of noise. If anyone on this board likes egyptian metal, listen to egyptica by nocturnal rites.

I not into deep raspy vocals, and growling sounds, it kinda sounded like the lead singer has a lisp...

Nope, not at all.
Its too,..hmm, I dont know how to say this, "brutal to the ear drums".
Yes, the fast tempo, drums, guitars and what not are all amazing, but its just too rough.

ArielDevaki, I guess you won't like punk then. Its all brutal to the ear drums, especially crust punk. Other bands to add that I don't like Nickleback, Fall Out Boy, 6 AM and I'll get flamed maybe for this, I don't like Queen, sorry can't get into it.
