This weekend I saw 300 in the IMAX theatre (how fucking awesome was that!!!)
And the next day went to see 1408. Which was a complete let-down.

Note's on a Scandal - It's with Judi Dench, Cate Blanchette, and Bill Nighy. GREAT movie! It's about two teachers (one that becomes obsessed with female co-workers and wants to be their only friend - Judi Dench) and the other who just started at the school (Cate Blanchette), and starts to have an affair with a student who's 15, who also becomes the center of the obsessive teachers affections. It came out on DVD a few months ago I believe.

I saw the Shipwreck Chronicles this weekend. I give it a 6. It was not as fantasy focused as I thought it would have been.

Shoot 'Em Up: violent but kind of naff.
I Am Legend: A let down, i thought the monsters looked crap.
Mr Brooks: a not bad serial killer thriller with Kevin Costner.
Juno: Fucking amazing.
Cloverfield: Oh. My. God!!!

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford: a really engaging movie with an excellent soundtrack done by Nick Cave.
Gone Baby, Gone: I was thoroughly entertained.

Mr. Brooks was good, and I want to marry the character from Juno, but I really hope the 'Oh my god' for cloverfield meant, "oh my god, I can't believe I just wasted 90 minutes of my life."

I thought it was a great film, though it did make me a little queesy thanks to the jerky camera.
Still, it'd be a dull world if we were all the same.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest.
I was bored, and wanted to see him sing about his jar of dirt.

City of God.
After seeing that movie I wont complain (as much) about how poor I am. That aside, it was refreshing to see a non-action oriented foreign film.
Best Regards,
Neil

For once, I have an answer for this thread.
"Hard Candy"
Some of it was hard to watch.

Dude, come on. That's my favorite movie everrrr. Although it does get pretty boring once you've seen it four times and you know exactly what's going to happen, but you have to wait twenty minutes because it goes so sloooowww.
The last movie I saw was Saw IV. It was a disappointment.

Misery (just happened to be in TV) - So fucking suspenseful, and goddamnit I hated Kathy Bates' character by the end. The 'hobbling' scene hurt my feet.
Ghosts... Of the Civil Dead - A bit slow and I didn't really know what was going on half the time... but Nick Cave wrote it and played a lovely young racist maniac, so that's fine. Gay prison sex and head-bashed-into-metal-toilet scenes also helped keep my attention.

I just saw, American Gangster, another movie with drugs, violence, and organized crime. This kept me entertained enough for me to forget about my laundry.

Apocalypto for the millionth time. It's the most beautiful, suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat film of all time.
