Bah, we all want relationships then when we get 'em we don't know what the fuck to do then... or is that just me?
I don't know which I like more personally, feminine or manly men...hmmm, I know I generally end up liking ones that everyone thinks are sleezebags...XD

I luuuurve pretty gothy jewelry, but I feel as if I have to have makeup and a skirt on to wear some of it b/c it's rather "fancy". I wear less fancy jewelry when I'm wearing jeans and a shirt. I think femininity isn't always in the way you dress, but the way you act and speak as well.

Same here. I'm a rather blunt and sometimes unintentionally rude person but really, underneath my corsets and stomper boots, I claim to be quite feminine.

What is with the...
"can goth girls be feminine?"
"are all goth guys gay?"
"can you be overweight and dress goth?"
etc. posts? I am not making fun of the original posters or anything, by all means people should ask any questions that they want to but...? Did someone write a manual and I never knew of it or what?
*confused*

No, actually the reazon of this thread is that every single goth girl I've met in person is boyish, and I started to wonder if it's always like that. Obviously not every gothic girl act the same way.

I see. Well, I have never noticed that, perhaps you have just happened upon specific people that happen to act similar. By 'boyish' do you mean masculine? Or more stoic, serious, etc. and thus perhaps somewhat more genderless or generic in expression? Or neither of those?

Yeah, by boyish I mean masculine and in some cases rude. I don't think thats the right way to be for a girl, but anyway, who said there's a specific way to be according to your gender today december 15 2007 ?

Yea true, who's to say. I see what you mean though. Personally, I don't know many goths that are unusually masculine (as a female) or feminine (as a male). A few here and there sure...but it's rare. But that is just me and my experience. Everyone interacts with various different people in the world.

The most feminine girls (note the spelling of feminine) I know happen to mostly be Goths.
femininity is not in the eye of the beholder; femininity is easily recognized. Of course most so-called "goth girls" with new-rock boots and undernourished hair are far from feminine, but that's only due to the simple truism that they don't put that much effort in to the proceedings.

i've always been very fond of goth women. they seem more feminine to me. whether it's their own sense of style, or the subtle way they do their makeup, or the drastic way they do their makeup and disregard for fashion, there's something about them....beyond the mystique, beyond the allure.....that just screams ultimate femininity.
but don't get me wrong, i love me some punk grrls too. <3 if she can hold her liqour AND kick my ass..../swoon
although, i have much love & respect for all women. we wouldn't be here without 'em. much loves to ya, ladies! <333

Punk girls are goth girls in waiting, as soon as the looming dread of old age approaches.

Hahah. That was too cute.
I think goth girls definitely can be feminine. The ones in MY neck of the woods are rather...not feminine, for lack of a better term. Eh.

I always thought of goth women as profoundly feminine. It always seemed the most obvious, defining aspect of them.
Hhhmmm, I'm quite sure how lame that came out. But I'll get back to you on that one later, whoever bothers to actually read this.

Gothic girls can be femenine. (Im a great example). Most of my girl friends act a little boyish, but they have a girly personality. I have one friend that has a really high pitched voice, she almost sounds like a care bear,- I dont know if that had anything to do with someone being fememine, but I though that I'd go ahead and point that out, lol.
It could just be that your average steretypical goth girl has long hair, dark eyes, chains, whips and the usual garb, and the goth boy has just about the same (long hair is an option).

OH..MY...GOD! I've had it with the "can I dress Goth If" posts! Look! Just dress however makes you happy! If what you want to wear isn't Goth, then FINE! Wear what makes you feel comfortable. NOTHING is worse than watching someone who is wearing all black, fishnets, teased hair, and looking uncomfortable. They make me nervous because they are nervous. Checking to see if people are judging them. Relax! Create your own style, and fuck those who tell you that you are either this or that based only on the style of your clothes.

It comes from reading this board with the burlish women, the slight femme boys, and the burly sights of both- otherwise, why would they ask?

That is a tough predicament. Do not overlook the fact that most good relationships are built upon the trust of a strong existing friendship. Give it time. If you are still young, don't get caught up in the social stigma of singleness. If you are dedicated to a girl, be her friend. If she comes around, she comes around. If not someone else will come along for you.
