What's nastier is when the spookykids are wearing thick white paint but have teenage acne, so you the thickly clumped white guff looks even more lumpy.
It *cannot* be helping their already rather unfortunate complexions.

I've stopped wearing foundation since I was about 13.
I'm pretty sure since that day I started wearing it it fucked up my skins hp lvls and dried it right out. So now every day I'm having to wear moisturiser >_<
The only make up I wear now is mascara and maybe a bit of eyeliner if I'm bothered.
Oh and I've never seen a mallgoth with white painted faces. I've seen a goth kid with his mummy and he had really bad greasy hair. Although the jacket he had on was hawt ^_~

I've seen plenty. They're going to be around. The bad thing about this rant is that it's going to get that nowhere. This will probably piss a lot of you off, but it isn't HIM's fault that they get marketed as Goth, they even disclaim goth themselves. They do have "goth" influences as well as coming out of a musical background the same way many goth bands do. It;s retarded to single bands like this out. Being an elitist about goth, or any subculture, is just fucking retarded. I'm goth and I'm proud of it. I never argued with the little fags who would come into my store wit Tripp pants and Nightmare Before Christmas hoodies on calling themselves goth. For one, I was at work, and two, I didn't give a shit. Half of them wouldn't know real goth music if you slapped them with it and half of them just want to be looked at. Bands like that are unfairly judged by elitists who have no true idea what they're doing. Also. HIM wouldn't turn into N'Sync if you took away their dark lyrics, driving imagery, heavy sound, and that symbol, because N'Sync is better. My problem with HIM is my same problem with the Sisters of Mercy. Too much of their shit sounds blatantly identical and overtly simplistic. I'm not downing either of these bands, that's just a general statement from a student of music and the music business. HIM writes some pretty cool shit to play on acoustic. They also make some cool covers. I'm still not a big fan, but going on about it like that is a waste of time.

I remember HIM saying they're not goth and they were sick of everyone putting them in that category, I can't remember where I read it. As for mallgoths....... I have 2 cousins who are obsessed with Marilyn Manson and Slipknot and they tell me that I'm not goth because I don't wear black all the time and I don't listen to metal.

Visited Australia once, and I happened to chance upon some kids all dolled up, as if ready to go to some concert. White faces and all.

Could be both cultures wear predominantly black, or that bands mistaken for goth fall moreso on the metal side in sound.
