Question Haunting/Moving/Gothic type of music, could be tracks/bands or soundtracks

Can anyone suggest some haunting/stirring/moving music for me please? I need it to inspire my writing, the sort of music that conjures images of longing or loneliness, darkness...etc
Maybe movie soundtracks or bands/singers like Unto Ashes
Could be individual tracks, please help me out! I need music to conjure mental imagery.

Also some dramatic music similar to Leave's eyes and After Forever would be good for different inspiration.

Have you heard of Mortiis? I have the Stargate and also Crypt of the Wizard. Good albums in my opinion, give them a shot. They sort of sound like a movie soundtrack.

I would highly suggest the Silent Hill soundtracks (especially SH4). Most of the music lacks vocals; it's all mood and emotion.

Check this band out. They're called Theater of Ice, and they've been around since the 80s. Very moody/atmospheric music.

I was also going to recommend THEATRE OF ICE. But, make sure it's one of their old albums like THE RESURRECTION or A COOL DARK PLACE TO DIE. Their newer stuff is more normal sounding and less soundtrack-like.

How about MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE?

I think Johnny Hollow may be of some help, especially the song; Alchemy.

Oh I do like mortiis.

TBH, if you want like UBER goth, I dont think you can get much better than [
Sopor Aeternus. It's probably the most gothic thing I can think of.

Dali's Car, Bomb Party, Curve or the Near Dark soundtrack, perhaps?

Hey. You might check out Detritus. They have some very atmospheric electronic soundtrack-type music. The Mothman soundtrack is pretty good , too.
