OMG I iz a goff nd a satenist I wurship da devel
YAY ME!!!!11

Okay.. let's get something straight..
Goth = music. Not lifestyle, directly. Get this notion of "going Goth" out of your head THIS INSTANT or please leave. Yes, certain people are more likely to be involved with/listen to Goth music, but the lifestyle is not what makes you a Goth.
Satanism = has nothing to do with Satan, and much more to do with Hedonism, from what I have read. However, I am not terribly familiar with Satanism, so I will not continue further. Perhaps Jillian could butt in?

I myself am in high school, and am far from stupid. Saying that you are in high school and therefore stupid is very offensive to me. If that is not what you meant, watch how you word your sentence-like blurbs.

Some Goths do tend to be a bit.. shall we say.. elitist, but generalizations are never goods things to make.

Here's the thing, while it's great to have new comers, "going goth" is like "going gay". You either are goth, it's a part of you, you embrace it, and don't go around asking how to become goth, nor do you go around asking how to become gay, or you aren't goth. It's cool if you want to learn more about goth culture, but understanding goth culture doesn't make you goth. It sounds as though you are attempting to conform to a culture which is all about individualism.

Also, as a Satanist, I find it slightly insulting to have someone proclaiming they are a Satanist and that they have "sold their soul to satan" and "satan is their master". If you have read the Satanic Bible, the Satanic Scriptures, Satan Speaks!, or any other material on Satanism, you would know that Satanism does not involve devil worshipping or the selling of souls. After many judgments about my religious beliefs, there are people like you who go about claiming to be a part of a religion and culture they obviously know nothing about, and giving others with the same beliefs a bad name. Those who are not educated about Satanism are likely to believe someone who says they are a Satanist and that they sold their soul to satan, and assume the religion is some kind of cult, and look down upon Satanists, or worse yet, follow you and repeat the process. The blind leading the blind.

I hope that your time here teaches you a few things. Enjoy your stay.

A bloody hell. Why do all the newbs have to be stupid. Don't blame school for your stupidity. I'm a senior in high school and I'm not dumb. Please check out the music forums and learn something. Please, I hope you do learn something.

Well I'm not really the guy to ask. I'm the resident punk rocker on these boards, as is Hopeless Joe. I know a bit about goth, but I know shitloads about punk.

There's just two things to the goth subculture:
The music, and the sense of community.
Music goes from Joy Division to The Cruxshadows, and some other sounds that run parallel to it (i.e. Industrial)
Out of the sense of community you get the recurring themes such as the color black and fishnets. Some people that see Goth in good eyes think goths are smarter than the general populace. I used to think this. If this is so, it's not because of the Goth attribute, but rather because of (positive) peer pressure.

As at least somewhat intelligent individuals, we Goths challenge our peers to be more intelligent as well. The is quite a bit of constructive criticism/discussion on here (unless you are someone like Signe, LMAO).
I believe that several aspects of the Goth subculture tend to attract people with above-average intelligence.

With time I start to think some folks here love to repeat the same over and over again ... No point if you try with this guy , he's a lazy ass and you're dancing at his rythm ...

All is not lost! We have been blessed by some pretty awesome newbies recently, ie: Bat Attack and Wittish.

I agree with the whole "I'm in high school therefore I is st00pid" thing being total bullshit. I'm in grade 11 and I like to think of myself as at least modestly intelligent.
